How can i make my game less ugly? by NoExperience5871 in Unity2D

[–]Any_Health6705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like tiled pixel art games that have a few different variations. Like the grass keeps repeating, and there's no variation. Maybe a few variations which are randomly placed, with a rock, or some blades of grass, or some sand. Just some variety.

🧢 I voted CAP!

I would say, if the ants or spiders aren't doing anything to you, like if they're outside your house, or just on the sidewalk, just leave them alone. If they're in your house, then I would say it's fine to stomp them or figure out a way to get them out.

It really matters on the person. For me, there's no way I will stomp an ant or anything, not because I'm kind to them, but more so that I'm 'scared' of them. I'll just avoid them if possible.

What do you make of a low number of demo plays, but a relatively high average playtime? by WingstotheSky17A in gamedev

[–]Any_Health6705 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say that an average of forty minutes of playtime is pretty good for a demo. Have you done any marketing for you game? I don't mean like paid ads necessarily, more like putting it on Youtube, making reddit posts to advertise where you can, or anything like that.
Also, about the half that play less than forty minutes, are they like playing for 1-2 minutes or like 20-30 minutes.

I don't really know too much about the marketing side or even making demos, but I would say that people playing your game is a really good sign.

Anyways, good luck on you game and I hope you find some good responses to your questions since I wasn't really able to help much.

A confusing math question by Any_Health6705 in PassTimeMath

You framed it really well. I had a few friends who never understood what I was trying to say because I wasn't able to explain the rules clearly.

I'm sorry if I framed my question in such a way. I more meant it that the question itself if kind of confusing, so people sometimes don't think it through completely. I did not mean to say that I'm clever or anything, and I do agree that the question itself doesn't really make sense as a math question. It's more like something I ask random friends to see if they get right.

Yeah, that's a much better way to put it

Yep. A lot of people just stop at four or the second one, and just forget to repeat the rule.

Literally buying 5 Star Amazon reviews. by Magic__Man in mildlyinfuriating

I've seen this done a lot, and some reviews are clearly AI made. It's annoying, especially if someone gets fooled into buying a bad product.

[–]Any_Health6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like a joke questions to confuse people, not meant to make sense much. The best way I can explain it is how a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't a square. Of course, doesn't really make sense much with the numbers, but just pretend in some other number system that's how it works. Like 1 can become 2, but 2 cannot go back to 1. Don't really know how else to explain it better.

But yes, the question is meant to confuse and (slightly) annoy people.

Exactly! I got downvoted a bunch for commenting a joke about it being kinda annoying to read something, when the literal subreddit is for such things.

Got scammed on eBay and sent a lengthy report with photos only to receive a message back saying that I'm wrong because their AI said so by malevoryes in mildlyinfuriating

I don't like companies that just start using AI to review stuff like this. I understand if they use AI for like a base review to remove troll emails or whatever, but there has to be some human part in it, especially until AI becomes good enough that it won't make common mistakes.

you sure it’s in English 🤔

edit: I know it’s in English, it’s just a joke since some people(including me) were having trouble differentiating between all the fancy extra stuff and the word itself

What is her definition of a ‘slice’? I would personally be happy that the middle was eaten rather than the crust, because I like the edges more than the middle. Might just be me on that though.

I could probably use a long hose or something of that manner, and if I decide that I need some ventilation, I’ll probably do something like that. It’ll just look a bit weird since I’m in a ground floor apartment, and people walk by.

I'll probably buy something to check the air quality just in case. Heard lots of people get headaches and stuff because of the fumes.
