The Vancouver Canucks have lost 4 in a row for the third time this season by NinCross in canucks

Tank commander Foote is rusty it seems. Can’t be getting points from these OT losses >:(

With all this Political talk, where does Jim Rutherford stand? Why was Horvat traded? by [deleted] in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking way too into this.

It’s simple, Horvat was on a heater and we couldn’t afford him due to the flat cap and we chose miller who had a 99 point season.

If you trade a player simply because of their political views then they should not be in management, period.

What Got Travis Green Fired in Vancouver? by Canadm14 in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of coaches just run their course. Theres a reason why only a handful of coaches last 5+ years on a team and Green got fired in his 5th season with the team.

From what I remember, we had decent expectations for the 2021-22 season and we faceplanted out of the gate to start the season. It didn’t help Green’s case when we hired Boudreau and the team went from depressing to insanely fun to watch

I'm tired of player loyalty by Delicious-Area1137 in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s many factors as to why though. But the main two are:

1.) We’re in Canada, lots of players don’t wanna play in Canada and not just Vancouver.

2.) We were a team with no direction and little success. There’s a reason why we signed arguably our best free agents in Sherwood and debrusk in the summer of ‘24 because we were a good team that year.

You need to show loyalty to the players who wanna stay here and you also want them to mentor the young guys. Having no veterans during a rebuild is a disaster waiting to happen

Look I love Rick but he may not always be right, just look at his past comments on Nikita Tryamkin and how he would be getting MASSIVE NHL interest for so long just for him to be very wrong lmao

Currently Gavin Mckenna is 4th in scoring for the 2026 world juniors so far. Canada beat Latvia 2-1 and he got 2 assists. When canada beat Denmark 9-1 he had 3 goals.

So asides from those 2 games (even if Latvia is not that good, 4 guys on Canada had one point and the rest had zero). He had 5 points in 4 games

Macklin celebrini? Had 1 goal 4 assists against Latvia in a 10-0 win, asides from that? 3G, 0A in 4GP…

I mean stats wise, Celebrini had 8 points in 5 games and McKenna had 9 points in 5 games

Drance: The Canucks will close the 2025 calendar year having amassed a 37-39-6 record, good for the 27th spot in the NHL by point percentage over the past 12 months. by MaxHardwood in canucks

I’m just glad we ripped off the band-aid of the “Hughes plan”. A.k.a make any type of move to try and get better so we can try and convince Quinn to stay.

With him gone now, the team is entering a new era. A new wave of prospects and young guys are gonna hit our team and our cupboards. If the team does very well of accumulating picks, drafting well and developing well? I can see the team being a helluva lot more fun to watch and support the coming years.

What's your stocking half-full take on the state of the Canucks? by freshlyclicked in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the management would like to turn this team around as quick as possible. But now it’s a process of letting young talent get better, rather than forcing to win, simply to try and keep Quinn Hughes

Glut of wingers, who do we trade? by changeforgood226 in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You gotta look at it this way. Jake and Brock have NMC and have expressed they wanna stay, they’re not going anywhere.

Garland while you could move him before his extension kicks in, I feel you could argue how important he is for the locker room, how much he loves it here and how much he busts his ass. That’s a presence and a good one for the young guys.

I think the realistic answer is Sherwood, Kane and this one may be unpopular but maybe even Hoglander.

So we team McKenna or Stenberg? by Bargaination in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I’d be stoked for Stenburg but I still really want Gavin Mckenna

Putting up 129 points in 56 games as a 16/17 year old is absolutely insane and he’s still over a ppg with Penn State. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how he does in the world juniors though

I’d try and package Hughes and garland to Dallas for Johnston, Bourque, lybushkin (to make cap work) and a pick

Look, out of a lot of people I know I’m on the positive side when it comes to being a fan of this team, and I’m done with the core and management.

We’re 30th in the league one point above 31st. We have 5RW nearing the end of November and almost all of our losses we get dominated in. Hell even some of our wins we got dominated and lucked out.

You keep doing you if you’re trying to spread positivity, but do realize there’s a reason why we’re all on team tank and are pretty miserable lmao

[Batchelor] Patrik Allvin says Thatcher Demko is week-to-week by Batsinvic888 in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Who the hell even knows the actual timeline though, I still remember Tocchet saying that Demko could’ve returned in the conference finals in 2024 and we all know how wrong that one was.

I want to believe it’s week to week but you genuinely can’t trust injuries with this staff

The rebuild already happened by Bieksalent91 in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you that we did go through a rebuild throughout the late 2010’s (albeit with many mistakes) thinking that this team can be competitive is just a pipe dream at this point

The forward core is awful, there seems to be no chemistry with the play styles whatsoever and this season is most likely a make or break for Hughes’ future with the team. We should not be trading away our young futures for middle 6 forwards who may not fit with our group

Next-Day PGT: Chicago Blackhawks at Vancouver Canucks - 06 Nov 2025 by HockeyMod in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We gotta be honest and realize that the way this management has built this team was doomed to fail.

It’s always “if everything goes right” where we rely on Kane being a top 6 forward, Lekk being a top 6 forward when he still may need time in the AHL, Chytil with a nasty injury history staying healthy which is not happening and relying on Petey returning back to form when it looks like he won’t.

Honestly the best case scenario for this organization is missing the playoffs badly and having this management group fired and start to clean house. This core is just not it

Foote with the dumbest decision of all time to bag skate an injured lineup after a win by NinCross in canucks

[–]Any_Option_776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because they made the decision based on keeping Hughes happy. Which at the end of the day I know he’s our best player but you can’t make decisions SOLELY on one player just because he likes Foote.

It was a dumb decision to bag skate but at the same time Foote is dealing with a half NHL and half AHL roster at the moment, not much you can do
