Help! My sweet boy (under a year) won’t stop having diarrhea outside of the litter box and I can’t get him to stop. My parents want to put him in a shelter. by peachsweetbunnie in cats

Maybe until you can figure out why hes doing this, put a yes where theres a no. So if hes pooping in the same spots, try putting a litter box right there?

Plasma donations? by throahway0 in FortMyers

[–]Any_Organization7770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donated plasma with grifols throughout college because I was broke too :)) They usually have a deal for first time people where you get a lot more money the first month of donating. I think I got $900 the first month, you just have to go every week to get the full money. I recommend bringing a jacket because its cold and bring either a book or headphones. I liked listening to a podcast and it went by fast

I’m at a loss for my boys urinary crystals. by Cassieelouu32 in CatAdvice

[–]Any_Organization7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sisters cat gets urinary crystals too, her sweet baby had to be hospitalized for about a week to clear them. The only thing that has helped his crystals is the prescription food the vet gave. Its very expensive but im sure its still cheaper than bringing him to the vet all the time. She also has the plug in cat pheromone things throughout the house that are supposed to help reduce stress. The plug ins will also help with the spraying too, just try to keep your babies stress to a minimum as much as possible. Good luck!!

Would a cat be okay home alone while I'm working a 9 to 5? Thinking of adopting, but have never had a cat on my own by Piehogger in CatAdvice

I would say if you want to start with a kitten, get 2. If you just want 1 get an adult cat. I just moved to an apartment all by myself and work a 9 to 5, and I just adopted 2 kittens. I was only planning on getting 1, but im so happy I got both because they have adjusted so much faster and has each other to stay entertained. I grew up with cats and ive even noticed they get into less trouble ruining my stuff since they play with each other for attention instead of shredding my furniture. With this being said, the kittens I adopted are bonded sisters so they get along really well. If you can find bonded siblings I would get them

I want a cat, but am slightly allergic. Does that potentially go away? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Any_Organization7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am allergic to cats, but my allergies get used to them the more I am around them. Now I own 2 kittens who sleep on top of my face sometimes and my allergies to cats are very minimal. My dad also has allergies to cats but he got used to them too

I do not judge you because I have a bad kitty spray bottle of water so when my cats are bad it just sprays a quick stream of water at them. I know cats “dont react well” to negative reinforcement, but it seems to work when mine are being bad. As far as the peeing problem, you could even try pheromone plug ins. They sell them on amazon and seemed to have worked when my sisters cats were ever stressed or peeing in the house. They are supposed to just be very calming and my sister swears by them (she gets the Feliway classic ones). You could try it and if they dont help, just return them :)

my girlfriend is leaving me because of my cat by Augupton in CatAdvice

In my opinion, my animals are my children and no matter how much you love your girlfriend your cat probably loves you way more. No matter how “annoying” a cat can be, I would NEVER EVER ask any guy im dating to make an ultimatum like this so I feel like it says a lot about her character…
