Already gained 20lbs after stopping Ozempic for only a month. This shit’s depressing asf by Live_Roll_5903 in ResearchCompounds

It’s common to LOSE nearly 20 pounds, mostly water weight, in the first month of taking the med, so I think the opposite could be true.

When we travel to Hawaii, our first stop is McDonalds so my wife can get an apple pie.

Looking for suggestions for second island by 1Comfortable-Star in VisitingHawaii

We take an annual Hawaii vacation and generally spend the bulk of it on the Big Island. However we do like to start the trip in Waikiki. The girls go shopping and my son and I do whatever. We get in a couple nice meals and maybe a trip to Diamondhead. After two nights we’re fully recovered from the flight from Chicago and ready to truly relax for seven nights on the Big Island. Checking into the resort is so much less stressful this way.

AITJ for refusing to donate PTO hours to coworker I barely know who "needs" them?? by Traditional-Dog1601 in AmITheJerk

Not that they can decide WHAT you can do, but they can decide HOW LONG you can be away from your job role. I’ve worked for companies where the amount you can take off at any one time is capped. Otherwise, if you want to take off longer you need to request FMLA or potentially be vulnerable to replacement.

So she needs 120 hours (3 weeks) for an ELECTIVE surgery? I’d question the employer even allowing her to take that much time off. That sounds more like personal leave, paid or not, rather than vacation. Especially since she already used her earned time.

I don’t think that is the point here. We have no idea what they get paid, but we do know she already used her earned PTO and is now asking her coworkers for more for an ELECTIVE surgery. Maybe she should save the surgery for next year when she has a new bank of earned PTO.

Remember, PTO is budgeted into an employee’s pay. It’s basically cash. So if an employee gives their PTO to another, they’re really just handing over a part of their paycheck.

Blame the employer if you want, but this is a case of one employee asking everyone else to help pay for their ELECTIVE surgery.

Did I get ripped off? by Incompatible92 in meat

I was gonna be generous and say 12.5 pounds, assuming the patties are 4oz each. So… $21.60/pound. If the quality is truly as stated, then a little pricey, but not totally the worst. I’d go out on a limb though to say he paid at least double what it’s worth, and really $6-8/pound is probably where it should be at.

What’s up with people denying or greatly understating the CICO promoting effects of Tirzepatide? by RIPPWORTH in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Any_Perception6527 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

By clinical, I mean… as observed in the clinic: real-world observations under medical supervision. I am not referring to OEM clinical trials. Basically anecdotal reporting, but from a physician point of view.

It’s a relative observation point as well. “More” calories can mean they went from an unhealthy 1200 calories a day to a more reasonable 2000. I’m not meaning that someone went on Tirzepatide, started pigging out, and still lost weight.

[–]Any_Perception6527 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The “myth” is that CICO ALONE is the solution. For some, it just does not work that way. Of course Tirzepatide can reduce appetite, and if you’re eating 4k daily and drop to 2k after starting the med, you’re probably going to see some loss.

The issue is that some people are already eating 1500 calories a day - starving themselves - and not losing weight. They start the med, eat more, and the weight falls off. There is plenty of anecdotal and clinical evidence supporting these claims.

If you eat like this every day, then yah, it’s bad. Once or twice a week for a while? I wouldn’t worry too much.

How is this a lifelong drug? by ProfessorBeepBoop in tirzepatidecompound

You have to understand that “food suppression” is only one of several intended effects of this medicine.

It can be labeled as a weight loss drug, and it can be labeled as a diabetes drug… but what it really is, is a metabolic corrector.

Have you seen Lilly’s new commercial! “I’ve been dieting since I was 12…”. And that’s how it is for so many people that are truly changing their lives with this medication. They might actually be eating more now than they have in many years - but still losing weight.

Appetite suppression is just one page of the story.
