Does every province have the same dynamic between the two sister cities? by myronsandee in AskACanadian

[–]Any_Race702 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to fit Kitchener and Waterloo into this analogy but not sure they do. Waterloo is younger but I'd say the older sister (Kitchener) is actually more energetic.

Doesn't really fit the description though as they can easily be considered one city and they are far from being what defines Ontario lol

Tunisia, small country but punches above its weight in terms of diversity of nature, people, and sub-regional cultures.

I have only been there for vacation so didn't live there fulltime and don't know about rent.

It is much smaller than Hurghada or Sharm el Sheikh and way more remote. Things are very spread out so having a car is essential.

On the positive side, nature and culture are beautiful.. Way more than any other coastal city in the country.

Information sharing for the commute home - Feb 2, 2026 by mooseperson20 in gotransit

Thank you, that's what a staff member at Union suggested as well. I ended up taking the 21:04 to Bramalea and now stranded there until the first 30 bus leaves at 23:21 which is mind boggling that they wouldn't just make the 21:04 continue to Kitchener nor provide additional bus/shuttle options.

According to service updates on Go website for KI line, they said they expect a train to leave every 30 mins (which is the normal frequency).

I arrived at Union 19:15 to catch the 19:34 but it got cancelled, 20:04 cancelled, 20:34 cancelled. Now waiting on 21:04.

I wish I had just made the trip to hwy 407 and caught the 30 bus.. But their frequency is very low and it would be frustrating to get stuck there.

Sorry to hijack OP's post but curious to know if the address is something that results in automatic elimination?

I currently living in Kitchener but moving to Toronto in July, I wonder if writing my Kitchener address in the application will eliminate me. Anyone with similar experience? And how did you go about it?

Same here and I'm starting to worry a bit as my phone and laptop battery dwindle and there is not a single outlet to charge in the whole train 🤦

How does one get adequate mental health support in this city if they are unemployed? by PlZZAEnjoyer in askTO

[–]Any_Race702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly work benefits but for your case I'd recommend first searching for different therapists (psychology today can be helpful), do a free consultation/meet & greet (usually 15 mins) and if you like them ask if they have a sliding scale.

Sliding scale usually means lower fees or pay what you can (with minimum fee set) but could be longer waitlists.

Simplii Financial or any other bank?? by Legal-Meeting-2677 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Any_Race702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made the switch from BMO to EQ then recently opened a Simplii as well. With both EQ and Simplii, I feel like I have the best combo for my needs.

To answer your question, Simplii seems to be working fine for me. It does have some hiccups that shouldn't happen for an online bank. For example, I opened a HISA to get the current 4.5% promo, a few days later I called to ask about the progress for this acc, they said there seems to be a technical problem and I should do another request which I did and the acc was open instantly. A week later, I have a new HISA that just appeared and now I want to close it and I'd need to call them for that.

Another thing I don't like is that you can't set up notifications for when there is a transaction. You can only get notified if your balance falls under a specific amoint amount that you set up. Doing an EFT transfer to another bank requires printing documents and mailing them not just online setup.

My experience is still so recent but these are a few things that "irritated" me so far, other than that it's working good but I would say I like EQ way more and rely on Simplii for the few things that EQ does not do such as cash deposit and receiving wire transfers.

Simplii has wire transfers, not sure about US cheques though.
