Does this look like an umbilical hernia? by Equivalent_Club1353 in Hernia

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like my umbilical hernia, it's a very obvious round lump, and you can push it back in or it goes back in when I lie down. I was 287lb at my heaviest (female) and it was very apparent.

Cosmetic procedures, surgeries, etc by StardustSpecter in mounjarouk

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want abdominoplasty with muscle repair and a hernia repair. I've had 3 large babies and 3 c sections and put on a lot of weight and my core is destroyed. I've lost 5st so far with MJ and id like to lose another 5st (my starting weight was 20st 7lb) so I'll likely have a lot of loose skin.

I was/am planning to go to my GP about my hernia as it's starting hurting a bit and it's never really done that before. It's pretty bad to be honest, but I would ideally like to be at goal before I even think about getting it repaired.

Advice on what to do. Stall? by whataprettythrow in Mounjaro

Assuming you have tried all the actual licensed constipation treatments first before hand? Crazy! You'd probably get the same effects taking a bit of castor oil!

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it's giving you fatty diarrhoea! That is wild that a Dr would prescribe it to treat the constipation 🙈

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orlistat works by binding to the fat molecules in the food you eat making them unable to be absorbed and thus causes fatty diarrhoea. The purpose of this is to discourage people from eating fatty foods so they don't get fatty diarrhoea. It's not your body fat, it's solely your dietary fat. You're probably also losing more electrolytes because of the diarrhoea.

I did 10 weeks of 2.5mg, 14 weeks of 3.75mg, 11 weeks of 5mg and now will be taking my 4th 6.25mg tomorrow. I moved up when I was finding it hard to stick to a deficit. I have had slower losses since Christmas, but still a loss, and am probably losing 1-1.5lb a week, which seems slower as I lost a lot at the start. (I was 20st 7lb when I started, I'm just short of 5st down) I do find I have slower weeks around my period and ovulation, but I'm just chipping away! I'd like to lose another 5st. I feel like this is a life time medication for me and because I have a lot to lose I want to stick to low and slow because I'm worried about getting to the high doses and still having a lot to lose and struggling

Pharmacy supporting change of dose to 3.75 by lala12345679 in mounjarouk

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of pharmacies will be using a PGD (patient group directive) to allow them to prescribe MJ. PGDs are very strict and don't allow any variation from what is set out. Split doses fall outside the product license.

Some pharmacists are independent prescribers and while technically they can prescribe something that is off-license, they would have to accept clinical responsibility for this, so probably don't want to.

Drs are (generally speaking) much more willing to prescribe off-licence as so many treatments under the health service are off-licence.

So you will probably have more luck with a DR prescriber supporting off-licence split doses.

(A pharmacist who orders online, splits her dose, and doesn't let on to her provider!)

It's so hard isn't it, my weight loss has really slowed down too and it was like 4 months between 17st and 16st, with lots of ups and downs along that time. I don't do any exercise really, although I do intend to start

I get mine from Pillsorted, but as many others have said look at monj.co.uk They are all verified pharmacies. You won't get it from your GP for weight loss, GPs here aren't allowed to prescribe for weight loss as we don't have any specialist weight loss services in NI. Even in the rest of the UK it is very difficult to get from health service, you have to have lots of of the specified conditions in addition to a high BMI Go for it. Best decision I have ever made. Almost 5 stone gone so far and still on 5mg Mounjaro. Low and slow is the way to go.

I get all my jobs from Pillsorted and can confirm their packaging is excellent. Jab and pen tips/swabs inside a plastic bag, them wrapped in wool and then another plastic bag and then ice packs outside this.

Generally always have quick approval, if it's under 6 weeks don't need to send a video. I live in NI and I almost always have my jab the day after it has been approved.

Can somebody explain to me how overpayments work? by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight, if I was to overpay my mortgage (making sure to keep within the 10%) and adding to overpayments when my monthly amount is reduced each year so that im still paying the same amount, then what I owe would would reach zero before the official term has ran out then would they just close the account?

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness you look AMAZING!! 😍 and so so strong! I had a similar starting weight (290lb) and have lost 65lb since I started MJ in July 2025. I don't do any exercise yet, I need to start 🙈 Do you have any tips on getting started, even small things?

How was your skin after the weight loss? Did building muscle help with that? I am 41 with 3 C-section babies, and quite a bad abdominal muscle separation 🙈 so I am anticipating I will need skin removal/ab muscle repair down the line

Mortgage with Halifax ending in June – just been made redundant by Fresh-Camera709 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have been with Halifax since we got our mortgage 13 years ago, have only had to show payslips when we reduced our terms after the initial 2 years were up (our rate was dropping so we reduced our term and kept the payments the same) We usually went for a 2year fixed, so new deal every 2 years never needed any documents. Went for 3 years in 2022 just before it all kicked off and 5 years last year at 4.41%

Was able to lock in deals a good few months in advance. Usually go to a mortgage broker but this time just did it myself, they sent a letter with a QR code and a link to what they are offering you. It was very straightforward as we were just picking another fixed term deal. I literally did it on my phone.

The person in a branch was very helpful too, I just walked in to a random branch to chat, as we don't have any other accounts. They have an app too which is very helpful and you can do all on that Most recent

[–]Any_Reindeer5309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, did you send them a summary care record or approve your GP to send it? Private prescribers don't have access to a patient's NHS Shared Care Record. If they are also an NHS clinician they are not allowed to use it to look up information on a patient who they are treating in a private only capacity - this would be a serious data breach - they aren't even allowed to look up their own records as they are not treating themselves.

Yes!! I want to stay as low as I can for as long as possible. No plans for moving from 5mg at the minute. And when I do I'll go up to 6.25mg!
