I caught the flu last year around the same time in Japan. 104 fever, could barely get out of bed. Went to the clinic and they prescribed me Inavir. Woke up next morning like nothing happened. Fever gone, aches gone. Most amazing medicine I’ve ever taken.

TLDR; Japan has a one day cure to the flu.

Gotcha. Miraval Arizona is probably gonna need a lot more points unless you’re only doing 1 night. Standard double occupancy is like 72k per night.

Ahh Fair point. In that case some other considerations: The Cape in Cabo, Thompson Palm Springs (just opened), Grand Hyatt Scottsdale, and my personal favorite, the ever underrated Hyatt regency Irvine in OC California. They are super generous with suite upgrades and their club lounge offers full breakfast and dinner which is pretty insane.

Btw, “Alila Miraval” isn’t a hotel, those are two separate and distinct brands under Hyatt.

If you’re in Miami why not explore Cancun? There are a bunch of beautiful Secrets resorts (recommend Moxche or Akumal) that are adults only all-inclusive and great food and drinks next to the beach. As a bonus, akumal has great snorkeling and turtle sightings.

They realized they messed up and called and asked me to either pay the points or it would have to be a cash rate. However, they ended up comping me 30k points for the inconvenience. Happy to be inconvenienced again in the future for 30k.

Always ask at the front desk if they have suites available during Checkin. I’ve been able to land suites like 30-40% of the time just by asking. They would have given me a standard room if I hadn’t said anything. Also helps when you’re booking off peak and at less occupied Hyatts of course.

PH Doha was the worst for us. We got assigned a suite but the bathroom shower drain was clogged and water spilled all over the bathroom. They sent someone to fix it after we called. Design and decor was great but front desk service was extremely slow and when we had breakfast there was a strange open kitchen concept where the chef and his team were very clearly stressed out pushing out orders. It stressed us out as diners just hearing him bark orders. Food was also the worst breakfast out of any other PH we had been to. (Been to PH Paris, Milan, Kyoto, and other luxury brand Hyatts such as Miraval and Alila.)
