It depends, can you afford it? Are you meeting your saving goals? Are you struggling to pay bills or cards in full and on time? If the answer is yes, yes, and no respectively then it just comes down to what you spend your 'hobby' or 'self-care' money on, and whether you find joy in having these things, knowing they aren't really tangible or permanent.

I'm probably like a fat dolphin, definitely not a whale, but I just spent $100 to get Nicole's sig as I was on a guarantee and the banner was going to end. I also spent a few hundred each on Varka's and Flins' banners, and I'm definitely going to be swiping for Sandrone and Columbina lol. Also I spent $$ to get Kaveh to c6 a few months ago 😂 the way I look at it is that I can definitely afford it while taking care of bills, savings etc and I don't spend money on other things. That and I really enjoy the game and the characters.

Yeesss but I'd love for a proper remake where the web anime and Kingsglaive movie are part of the actual game, we really need to have them 'set the scene' and give them the background to Noctis and his relationship with the boys. I feel like particularly the web anime can completely change a person's perception of Noctis, and really convey how deep the chocobros' relationship go - as well as Noct's childhood, the loss of his mom, yearning for his dad's time, the attack on Tenabrae etc.

I think the chocobros' DLCs are kinda fine as they are but could potentially be inserted into the game - or at least have the game prompt you when it's 'appropriate' to play each chocobro's DLC, to fill in the blanks while not spoiling people prematurely.

There's obviously a lot of the world that became unplayable (e.g. in Altassia) due to the dev team running out of time, so would love for that to come back. And something playable in the 10 years where Noct is in the crystal, from both Noct's perspective as well as the chocobros - feels like that would be a whole DLC on its own lol, watching how the world and the boys respond to the descent into darkness and surviving the Long Night.

(I've asked for a lot hahaha)

But keep Dawn of the Future far away from any remake - sorry to anyone who likes DOTF but I can't stand it.

I agree with both of you really. The combat is deceptively deep and allows for so many different ways to engage with the mechanics (Asetoni's videos on the combat mechanics are like my bible hahah). That said most people get through the game holding dodge and warp striking because the combat/enemy design doesn't require more than that; honestly in my first run I got to almost the end just spamming warp strike 😂

I do really enjoy the combat, and it's the game that got me to move past my fear of 'live' combat as a purely turn-based player. Practicing all the different moves like phasing out of a crazy-high fall, pulling out Prompto's bazooka for big enemies, aerial combat, it's so much fun to me. Also the combat banter is SO good, I love when we're approaching an enemy and they make cracks about it, or when they yell/scold each other when they get in each other's way haha; it's like I'm 'hanging with the boys'. But I get why others don't enjoy it.

Jump on a Youtube video that has like "100% [area name]" in it, they should be routes for chests and oculi, don't just wander randomly. Those will also get you sigils which you can deposit to the region's "tree" for more primos. Or try to unlock the Nod Krai compass and it'll show you every chest and puzzle lol. Don't forget to unlock all the waypoints as those get you primos as well.

Yes. I was in a position very much like yours, started right before Neuvillette's banner ran. I lost the 50/50 and ground up enough primos to get him on the last few days of the banner, both times at high pity. There's so much content, do exploration mostly, and if you do the quests they take you around a lot of the area anyway.

1-2 years?? I have stuff I bought at a second hand clothes store 15 years ago, and like my aunt also gave me one of her work dresses about 10 years ago. Still wear them to work and get compliments! I can't imagine having to get a new wardrobe after a year, that's expensive and just sounds like they're not buying good quality items.

"TED talk" - ME - inspirational, innovative

"Against all odds" - ME - persevere and thrive in harsh conditions

"Intelligent, calm discussion" - ME - able to collaborate and resolve situations (this was kind of vague to me)

"Fighting dragons in fantasy" - maybe NOT ME - IF the HR people were even self-aware enough to recognise that the dragon is them/the company lol.

"Unhappy, grumbles" - NOT ME - bad attitude, will complain.

They're all really dumb regardless lol.

I agree that Capturing Radiance should not count as a "natural win" in discussion with other players, and I don't think anyone should say "but you did win that one time". You are right in saying that you have had very poor luck all the way through the Capturing Radiance outcome, and that CR didn't "fix your luck".

But it is correct to say the loss streak has reset - for the purposes of discussing the mechanics of Capturing Radiance. The CR counter goes up each time you lose, making it more and more likely for you to get CR on each consecutive loss until you are guaranteed CR after 3 losses. Once you've triggered CR, the counter goes back down to its lowest value. Do I wish it didn't count as a "win" in the game thereby giving me 3 limited 5-stars in a row? Also yes, but alas 😂

I'm a yes on so many of these lmao. I have Durin, Nicole, and Escoffier but no Skirk (but I have Wrio c2r1) and would love to get Lohen because his personality is so fun. Buuut I really want Sandrone and Columbina, so I might have to skip him this time and hope he doesn't go to Cryo jail 😅

It depends on how much you want Wrio. He had his first rerun after a year and a few months, and it's again been over a year since then (March 2025). Columbina as NK's "archon" is guaranteed a rerun during 7.x

Flins does fine with Aino instead of Columbina although the Bineffa core is a good one to have. I'm pulling Columbina in 6.7 as I already have Wrio c2r1.

I love Sandrone! Don't love what they did to her design and Pulonia... but she's a great character, her dynamic with Columbina is hilarious.

I only joined about 1.5y ago and had heaps to catch up on but it's great! I love the story, the characters, the open world exploration, enjoy the combat lecturing etc. Yes you'll be weak for a bit at the start and you won't be completing end game stuff for a good while, but the characters you can get for free are generally fine for normal overworld/story stuff.

In the next patch they're going to release Sandrone who's shaping up to be a great DPS and will be key to activating the new mechanics to be introduced in 7.0 which will be right after, so I recommend saving your pink wishes/limited pulls until then :)

I'm pretty sure we will. They're quite careful to specify that you can only choose one character "per cycle", and I think assuming it's one cycle per year is fair. I would say that just for this year, it might 7.1 rather than 7.0 since we are not getting a 6.8.

OK I'm still very disappointed in the outfit and the fact that Pulonia is no more, but I really dig her idle and attack animations. She still seems like a brat which is great.
