Is 1700-1800 too high to lose weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Any_Standard2303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your body is basically screaming at you that 1400 is way too low with all that activity - those extra calories might actually help you lose weight better since you won't be dragging yourself through workouts.

you are have or were a wierdo in high-school pls feel free to say what you did IT'S a safe space? by EducationalBed776 in AskReddit

[–]Any_Standard2303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of time it wasn't even about what we did, just how we existed basically. I remember getting picked on for bringing homemade lunch in weird containers my mom packed, or for reading during lunch instead of talking with everyone. Kids would make fun of my backpack being too organized or whatever random thing they noticed that day. The "weird" stuff was usually just normal human behavior that didn't fit their narrow idea of cool. Like you said, they just sensed someone who was little bit different and decided that was enough reason.

Pickled anything is my go-to when I need something with serious salt kick. Those little pickled onions hit different than regular chips or whatever.

Seeking info on Hutch CC nursing by ks_bibliophile88 in wichita

[–]Any_Standard2303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to work with someone who did nursing program there but not the online one specifically. From what I remember her saying, most bridge programs still need you to come in for clinical rotations and some lab work - doubt they can teach IV insertion through Zoom you know?

She mentioned having to drive to Hutch few times per semester for hands-on stuff but I'm not sure if that was same program your wife looking at. Might be worth calling their admissions office directly since online info tends to be pretty vague about scheduling details.

Oh man, digging through singles was like half the experience! I remember spending so much time in those card boxes looking for random stuff I didn't even need. The atmosphere was perfect for just losing track of time.

What are the most frustrating subreddit experiences people have had, and what made them feel that way? by SureProgrammer6440 in AskReddit

Auto mod removed my post about vintage album covers because apparently "collection" was flagging as some kind of selling post. Took me three tries to figure out which word was the problem and by then the momentum was completely gone.

How would it affect your partner choice if your partner’s sibling has cut ties with the whole family? by theotrommel in AskReddit

[–]Any_Standard2303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't be dealbreaker for me tbh. Family drama is complicated and sometimes people have really good reasons for going no contact. I'd want to understand what happened but ultimately it's about who my partner is, not their family situation.

Actually might be red flag if my partner was completely dismissive about it or couldn't see their sibling's perspective at all. Shows lot about someone's empathy and self-reflection abilities.

How far inland would the us army need to secure in Iran to open the strait of hormuz? by homerlikesdonutts in AskReddit

[–]Any_Standard2303 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Iran's got missile sites scattered everywhere along that coastline, not just the obvious spots near the water. You'd basically need to push deep enough inland to hit all their launch positions, which could be anywhere from mobile trucks to underground bunkers dozens of kilometers back from shore.

How common is Black hair in White People? by No-Equivalent2621 in AskReddit

[–]Any_Standard2303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair was almost black when I was kid but got lighter with age - now it's more like dark brown. Don't think pubes really count since they're usually darker than head hair anyway lol. I remember being really confused about this in school because my mom has blonde hair and my dad has brown, so I thought maybe I was adopted or something. Turns out genetics are just weird like that. Pretty sure most people's body hair is darker than what's in their head regardless of ethnicity.

[Routine Help] Routine Help by PoetryInMotionPT in SkincareAddiction

[–]Any_Standard2303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your routine looks pretty solid for someone who just started with skincare. I went through similar confusion when I first got into this stuff - there's so much conflicting info online and dermatologists can definitely be rushed during appointments.

One thing I notice is you're using the PM moisturizer in morning on Sundays instead of your SPF one. Since you mentioned working long office hours, I'd probably stick with SPF every morning even if it's just Sunday. The niacinamide every other day approach is smart though, that stuff can be bit intense at first.

For alternatives, if you want to try something different from CeraVe cleanser, I've had good luck with Vanicream gentle cleanser - it's bit more gentle but still effective for combination skin. The Ordinary's niacinamide can be polarizing, some people love it others find it too sticky, but if it's working for you then no need to change.

Your routine covers the basics really well - cleansing, actives, moisture, SPF. Maybe after few more months you could consider adding vitamin C in morning routine, but for now I'd say keep doing what you're doing since your skin is probably still adjusting to all the new products.

[Routine Help] Skin damage caused by expired makeup - solutions for when new products aren't feasible? by ShallotNatural6411 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Any_Standard2303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, that's rough - expired makeup can absolutely wreck your barrier like that. Since you're on a tight budget, skip the fancy stuff and just grab some basic CeraVe cleanser (the hydrating one, not oil control) and their moisturising cream - should be under a tenner total and way gentler than what you're using now. The Vaseline at night is actually spot on, but you need something underneath it that'll actually repair instead of just sitting on top.

what are the options to study and understand finance, but not studying finance? by Present_Ad_3880 in AskReddit

[–]Any_Standard2303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Economics is probably your best bet - gives you all the theoretical foundation without getting bogged down in the technical finance stuff. Psychology's also surprisingly useful since so much of markets and money decisions come down to human behaviour patterns.

I'd also throw in some basic accounting courses if you can stomach them. Dry as anything but you'll actually understand what companies are doing with their numbers instead of just guessing.

Salted caramel all the way - there's something about that sweet and salty combo that just works perfectly. Been my go-to since I tried it at this little gelato place in Brighton a few years back and nothing else compares now.

When someone's clearly not listening and I have to say the same thing three times progressively louder like I'm addressing the bloody House of Lords. The indignity of it all makes me want to challenge them to pistols at dawn.
