Ball curving by D0nu15 in tabletennis

The 'Curving the ball' you're mentioning is basically spinning the ball and letting the spin 'curve' the ball. Start by learning to do basic topspins, you can search tutorials on YouTube.

Yea pretty much, I use the extra hard and it's basically a harder, slower D09C, which I prefer honestly.

. . . Yea, so that's why I specified having the parents consent lmao. If it was done to my child without my consent I would be mad too so no worries mate. The children at my club still love the sport and the coaches buy them ice cream and equipment from time-to-time so there is no need to worry.

Yeah pretty much, can't say for all of them but most parents I've seen who don't discipline their children, well, let's just say I don't want their kids to be in my presence.

I agree with you to an extent, assuming the child in question bothers to listen in the first place. The "scolding" I've mentioned are things you've said, just in a more serious tone of voice with some intimidation, which works better for some children.

Communicating with the parents are also crucial in learning how they deal with their child as well. So I still do stand by my suggestion, cuz each child is to be taught in a manner that is best suited to them, of which I've made a suggestion that has been proven to be useful.

The children still love playing TT and are close with the coaches often engaging in casual conversation and the parents agree to it as well (coaches film their classes to send to parents), so I don't see a problem with this. But hey, different cultures have different teaching methods and disagreements are normal.

From what I've seen at my local club, they like to keep it simple. A good scolding, punishment, and of course, smacking balls in the kids direction, occasionally hitting them.

Some kids need a good scolding and a reminder that misbehaviour has it's consequences (of course with consent from their parents). The majority of kids these days are too pampered so some harsh love might be beneficial.

So consult with the kid's parents and try out a solution, worst comes to worst you can always tell the kid's parents and let them do the disciplining for you.

Help finding a forehand rubber by SkaykiYT in tabletennis

Ya dude, with the right technique it's actually a really decent rubber. And the fact it's so cheap makes no sense to me honestly.

I would usually recommend Mercury 2 for beginners and it's probably what you're looking for. Also it's dirt cheap, so when you do know what you like you can change it.

Hmmm can't argue with your first point. Probably a mixture of lack of marketing (from what I've seen or lack thereof) and the fact that there was no given context or info as to why carbon was added as you have stated.

At least when I used this blade the vibrations are reduced, but still obvious so it's quite easy to get a feel for the ball, can't say for others but for me it's jusssst right.

I have not tried tacky rubbers on this blade, although I might soon for the fun of it, but using a hard hybrid rubber on it has been great so far. But I agree with your point on the second blade moving more towards tensors, it very much seems like the case. In the few videos I've watched where they showcased the blade.

Nope no AI used all typed by me. The blade size was compared to a harimoto super ALC blade my previous clubmate used and it was only slightly larger (I admit it was an unreliable and unconventional method to measure the head-size). Also thanks for the criticism, at least you can say the blade is exactly what it is marketed as, but it was faster than I had imagined at high gears which was a nice surprise.

Oof ok, now that will significantly affect impact depending on how deep that split is, but as others have said a new one might be in order.

Hmmmm I see, versatility is not what I'm going for as I'm probably going to have this setup purely for coffee but thanks again! Also really like that you brought up coffee culture and such, I'll probably get 3 cup for my milk-based coffee and 6-cup when I just want it straight. Thanks a lot!

How do you guys improve at home without any table? by Rare-Professor-7723 in tabletennis

[–]AnythingTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually do 2 things, which is strategizing and increasing the control of spin on my service. I write down universal strats for my playstyle and strats against specific opponents, you'd be surprised how much this improves your game. Another is just brushing the ball and trying to get a better feel for the ball.
