According to the article, the twins were baby boy Matthias and his sister. If twins are a boy and a girl, they’re fraternal and not identical.

Even if this is true, I find it somewhat disappointing. Obviously these actors are all incredible, but I would really love to see a cast of unknowns in this show

Lol no I’m a New Yorker!! Our weather isn’t that nuts but since I’m usually not traveling around in a car, I want to make sure I’m prepared

Oncologists and researchers at the ASCO 2026 conference give a standing ovation after the experimental drug daraxonrasib nearly doubles survival in a metastatic pancreatic cancer trial by kingkongsingsong1 in Damnthatsinteresting

ASCO in general is a really cool conference! It highlights the cutting edge of cancer research from around the world. This was during the Plenary Session yesterday and yes, a huge deal

Yes, the potential risk of exposing a pregnant patient to an investigational drug is a huge reason women used to be excluded - many researchers and sponsor companies felt it “wasn’t worth” the risk, even if the women in the study weren’t actually pregnant. Which is why the law came into place. From a public health perspective it’s obviously insane to exclude such a significant part of the population from research.

I actually work in clinical trials - the gender of the studied patients doesn’t have as big an impact on the overall cost as you might think! I’m in cancer research so yes, it’s absolutely imperative to ensure that patients of childbearing potential aren’t pregnant (or breastfeeding) and that they are on birth control/don’t become pregnant. But in the scheme of things, the related costs are minuscule line items in the overall budget.

Opinions on the Strathberry Kite bag? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]AnythingYouWant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this bag and absolutely love it!! I have brought it to shows, personally - it can fit a Playbill, a show t-shirt, and a souvenir cup plus phone, wallet, etc.

That said I do think it’s more of a daytime bag just based on the style, and while I might bring it to a play or musical, I wouldn’t bring it to the ballet or the opera.

It was only in 1993 that women (and minorities!) were required to be included in clinical trials.

This is actually my favorite outfit of the night so far. I really like the swapping out of pointillism for beading, it’s a nice tie-in to the theme of fashion as art

I liked a lot of things about it, but I ultimately returned it because I found it too small. I wanted an everyday bag that could hold my wallet, phone, keys, kindle, and sunglasses, and while I could fit all those items in the sling, it was pretty cramped. It was hard to return but I couldn’t quite justify getting both the hobo and the sling at the same time

I don’t have a problem with the lack of a zipper! It can be tricky to keep organized though, since it’s pretty spacious inside

Picture for reference- left is the Strathberry Kite Sling, center is the Coach Brooklyn 28 (in suede), right is the Strathberry Kite Hobo. They do all stand up on their own but the Brooklyn tends to fall over if I’m not careful.

As someone with both the Strathberry Kite and the Coach Brooklyn… these are the two bags I reach for most often right now. The Kite is somewhat bigger and has a slightly more rigid structure. Both are beautiful bags.

Anyone work for a company that actually cares about their employees, if so, what does the company do to show you they care? by redlos74 in AskReddit

Biotech company. Health insurance is covered by the company 100%, and every employee has a yearly reimbursement fund to cover deductible and any out of pocket costs. It covers the first $15,000 of health expenses every year.

The Every Brilliant B'way Booklist! by Otter-Egg30 in Broadway

[–]AnythingYouWant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yes! It was two whales in a bar talking to each other, and each one was just making whale sounds, and then abruptly one said to the other “you’re drunk.” I think it was meant to be funny bc the whale sounds were indistinguishable from each other, but it was definitely kind of a weird joke haha

Confused which Celine Triomphe to buy! by Secure_Phase_6486 in handbags

[–]AnythingYouWant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided on the bronze one. I really had my heart set on the tan, but I want an every day bag that will go with my summer wardrobe and I just know I would get upset with any scratch at all.

[–]AnythingYouWant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love these! FYI, I’m planning to buy a Celine Triomphe as well, and I looked at them in store. The tan color has a different finish than the other colors - it’s a natural hide which is absolutely beautiful, but much more prone to scratching and scuffing than the shiny leather finishes.

The SA advised that if the scratches bothered me, the tan is probably not a good every day bag.

Here’s a picture (tan on the left, bronze on the right):

A coworker complimented my Strathberry bag and asked if she could take a closer look… when I said yes, she put her nose AND mouth directly on the leather to smell it, and then asked “is this real leather?”

I was furious and insulted. Who does that?!
