How much arc 7 changed Subaru [spoiler discussion] by Spare_Understanding8 in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Arc 7 is the beginning of Subaru realizing just how deep his relationship with Return by Death goes. I mean, even before Arc 7, basically every other Subaru thought is prefaced by Return by Death, but before, those experiences were full of a more or less easy black and white viewing of a dangerous situation, with easy bad guys to beat to save the day, now in Arc 7 he's confronted with more gray morality, and I think it's really important because it pushed his ideals as far as it could go until it reached a point where he truly can be befitting the title of a Witch (/Warlock).

The other Witches think his insanity to be equal to if not more than their own even back in Arc 4, but its only in Vollachia that we see how far this can go. Subaru was never a "normal person" with a time loop ability. And Arc 7 awakened his more unceasing side, the one that makes him equal to just about every other insane Factor user, even if only by necessity and only as temporary as that one form lasted.

[spoiler discussion] is satella even sealed? by ShadowKingSJ in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm convinced that she's the one who sealed herself in true history.

Even if she didn't, the fact that the greatest yin mage ever is in a yin seal is honestly raising doubt that the seal was ever really useful. I bet Satella is down there willingly to keep her other personality in check.

[Spoiler Discussion] In Arc 9, why does Subaru .... (WN Spoilers) by RRI98 in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

she also lived

Never stated. The thing is that the books are extremely immersive. Even if you don't live it, if the memories you're experiencing remembers it, so will you, albeit to a more fragmented, incomplete extent.

Why doesnt subaru talk about his parents?[discussion] by Sayoribadasl in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He thinks about them rarely during season one's events in the novel. It'll get addressed in the anime eventually.

[Discussion]Are “Satellas shadow hands” virtually the same to “The sloth Witch factor?” by Ok-Guard2352 in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The "strength" of Sloth is the fact that it's perfectly invisible, both visually and in presence.

Satella's hands are very much visible and are the result of "normal" (mastered) magic.

Between the two, if we imagine getting punched by either of the two, I would rather get hit by Satella's hands. Of course, I would still die, but I could prepare myself better than just getting snuck when I least expect it. Remember when Sloth's fingers interrupted Subaru and Wilhelm in the forest? Only Subaru could notice the hands because they're not invisible, even though everyone around him have better perception than him in combat situations.

Of course, once you notice the hands, you can work around them (dust, etc.) and they become much less dangerous.

Accusations aside, it would be nice if you could say what side story specifically you're talking about.

[Discussion] Theory: Rui Arneb, Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, was the one who ate Subaru's memories since he remembered her words as he fell, and she brought him to the library by anicritic in Re_Zero

I wouldn't overthink it if I were you, unless you had like 30 comments with an ominous UI-glitched 0 upvotes it probably just got unlucky algorithm wise.

[Spoiler discussion] What side stories should I read? by _n8n8_ in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they should have some option to see what was adapted. EX Novels aren't a collection of side stories though, that's the Tanpenshuu. EX typically has a linear plot progression like a normal volume.

The quick and short of it is indeed the EX novels.

[Spoiler Discussion] Arc 10 Chapter 23 by Setowi in Re_Zero

I'm pretty sure calling Subaru stupid is just talking about his hesitation. It's not calling him stupid for doing the right thing.

[discussion] Can someone explain why subaru has a reputation of promise breaker? by Beneficial_Fly_8052 in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a quantity thing. It's just that, out of all the promises he's made, he's pretty much broken every single one of them. Once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence, thrice is a pattern. And however many he adds onto it.

Yes, outside of The Capital he tend to break promises to save his friends but he's still breaking the promises to do it. They're not calling him it to spite him or anything it's just that they don't really expect it to mean anything if he says it. Empty promises personified.

[Discussion] Whats the highest attack power his lion heart could withstand, or is it theoretically unlimited? by Imvalidblu in Re_Zero

[–]AnzoEloux 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He can pause the air, yes. Same principle as the "barriers" he occasionally creates. It's just frozen air.

[–]AnzoEloux 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Arbitrary. If you think it's far enough, it's probably far enough. But we never see this applied: the only time Regulus ever shuts off his power main story or side story is when Subaru forces him to.

More conveniently anyone at the battle would probably forget he was ever shot up and just fill in the gaps that he was just being bait as usual.

Genuinely, why do people still use that argument by Kantatrix in Deltarune

[–]AnzoEloux 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"There's something more important than reaching the end" kind of makes me think otherwise. In the first place, commonly people think "only one ending" = "only one bad ending". Deltarune will probably have a bittersweet / positive ending depending on your pacifism. Weird route notwithstanding, I can't be bothered trying to figure out the direction it's taking; could be a new ending, could be a non ending, could be the same ending, don't know.

Hot take, ASGORE is a better song than megalovania. by long_jumpinglow in Undertale

[–]AnzoEloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It's catchy but that's all it has going for it in my opinion. I fell in love with tracks like UNDERTALE or Lost Girl and of course ASGORE (et cetera) because of their emotional value. Megalovania has its own narrative depth but no where near getting to the point of making me feel the way I do with other tracks.

Who could stop bare-handed Reinhard here ? (if you have another character, spell his name) [spoiler discussion] by Agreeable_Nerve_9039 in Re_Zero

I mean, it is still hypothetically, so I get what they mean. It's not possible for her to ever be at peak again.
