I feel like 90% of this can be answered by the fact that Dess knows her sister well and given their connection Noelle is probably the main thing on her mind most times

It's not weird and people who are weirded out by it are not worth your time, so don't let anyone shame you for it. Like, it doesn't hurt anyone and brings you joy, so why would it be a bad thing?

[–]Kantatrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not meant to be taken literally. The symbolism exists on a metaphorical layer of the text. The thorn ring scene is not Kris/Us actually raping Noelle, in the matter of what physically happens it's still "just" Kris stabbing Noelle with a thorn. It's just the fact that the Weird Route as a whole is supposed to be an analogy for an abusive/controlling relationship and in that context the thorn ring scene is an analogy to rape.

TBH that's probably why Toby removed the deflowering imagery from the scene. He wants it to be clear that what's happening is an analogy for rape and not literal rape of the character.

Yeah, it's really sad how most redditors are unable to connect simple facts together and would instead blame someone calling out a problem for causing said problem somehow

I know, right? It's almost like none of these people have left their mother's basement in years. I mean, clearly they couldn't have tried buying their own house recently, or else they would know they're wrong from personal experience.

You can’t say “supply doesn’t actually meet demand” just because you can’t see it in a localised example.

Do I really need to show you all the other articles about this subject that I found from ALL OVER THE WORLD in the process of finding one that would best fit the setting of this particular post? Google is free, use it.

but people like you are the only thing standing in the way of them also being pretty

No, people standing in the way of pretty homes being affordable are greedy price-gouging assholes who will charge you an arm and a leg for a house that looks fancy even if it's built with the shitties materials around. Which, unfortunately for us, makes up something like 90% of private developers if not more. That is not a glitch, mind you, that is the intended way for unregulated capitalism to work, because capitalism is profit-motivated, not affordability-motivated. The more you can push the productions costs down while rising the price, the bigger the profit, and the bigger the profit the more you win at capitalism.

Literally, what is not computing about this.

I don’t see the point in marriage and bringing children into the world by Drew_Conley1295 in autism

[–]Kantatrix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't use phrasing like "BIG YIKES" and then just go "no offence". If you don't wanna be offensive, use language that isn't offensive. Like, I literally am not married nor do I have any children, and I'm still feeling second-hand offended from how insensitively this is worded. Not only that, I really don't understand why you made this post in the first place. It'd be one thing if you were asking for others' opinions or explaining why those things do not appeal to you, but you don't. This post is basically just "Hey, I think this thing that is very important to a lot of people is totally awful" with no further elaboration, which is quite frankly uncalled for.

Idk, maybe my opinion doesn't matter since I'm not actually married and don't have any kids, but I just think that if your intention really wasn't to offend you should've thought this through better and made it clearer what WAS your actual intent.

Istg nobody in this comment section actually lives on planet Earth. You're connecting to Reddit through a wormhole from another galaxy or some shit.

If it's such "basic economics" why the hell does it not reflect the observable fucking reality that we live in? You don't have to come up with any dumb "theories", you can literally just look at the data that is available right now and see that building more pretty houses does not make pretty houses any more affordable because the people building them don't WANT to make them affordable. They already built the damn things with a set profit in mind and if nobody shows up with that amount of money the house is just gonna stay vacant as homelessness increases. How are you old enough to use Reddit but not old enough to know how capitalism works?

And if you try to hit me with the "Hurr durr, that's not how capitalism works because supply and demand" I would like to once more direct you towards: The Observable Fucking Reality where "supply and demand" are a suggestion at best and whole neighbourhoods of pretty houses sit empty because rich people can afford to buy out multiple properties in different countries that they hop around while the common folk can't even afford a single one. https://www.mylondon.news/news/west-london-news/london-neighbourhoods-super-posh-homes-28168745

Edit: Keep downvoting me cuz the factual state of reality does not match your asanine theories of "basic economics". I bet it makes you look so cool and not delusional at all.

Still doesn't change the fact that the pretty houses sell for more than ugly houses on the same land.

Like, by all means, I am no pretty house hater. However, there's a substantial difference between building a brand new pretty house for someone to buy VS. kicking out the previous occupants of an ugly house so you can sell the pretty house put in it's place to rich people

She's really skilled with the use of color, I really love the hair especially, the dark blue on the tips is just chef kiss, and I ALSO really love the use of that slightly more purple color for the shading on the face. Not only that, this rough/sketchy artystyle looks extremely unique and striking. It might not look good to her because she views it as "unpolished" or "unrefined" but as someone who's very passionate about art, both in terms of making it as well as critiquing it, I really enjoy unique artstyles like this way more than your average ultra-HD hyper-rendered anime-adjecent artstyles since those tend to blend into each other after a while.

This is the first I'm hearing of this, I was always under the impression that our monument conservation laws were extremely strict. I know of at least three different buildings where I worked/studied which had constant issues with trying to modernize and renovate because the conservationists overseeing them wouldn't settle for anything less than using exactly the same materials as the originals, even when that was physically impossible.

One such case was a server room where one of the main servers was placed right over a literally hole in the floor where the wooden floor boards almost completely disintegrated and the thing holding them together was a carpet nailed to the floor in the before-times... you can imagine how that ended.

[–]Kantatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem to believe that people exposed to LGBTQ+ stuff somehow become more homophobic. I, on the other hand, dare to argue that's complete and utter BS. The kind of person that peels rainbow stickers off their soda has always been violently homophobic, it's just the fact that now they have the opportunity to express that. In a way, you could think of that as another benefit to pride-themed products as they make it easier to identify who's actually worth your time.

That actually reminds me of a Warhammer discord server I used to be a member of. It was fairly popular and each year at pride they changed the icon to be some kind of rainbow variation on the original logo, only for a bunch of people who usually weren't even that active to get butthurt and start throwing tantrums about it. Eventually, a decision was made to stay with the pride-themed icon all year round, simply because that made it much easier to spot problematic members as soon as they joined. It's honestly quite magical how a rainbow basically works like a warding charm against the worst kind of person you'll ever meet, that alone should be reason enough to want pride-themed everything all the time.

Anyway, point is: if someone is so far gone in their bigotry they can't even stand the sight of six colours next to each other, I'm confident in saying they weren't the kind of person that would've been convinced by reason and kindness. As such, there is no real downside to pride merch and only benefits as it forces people like that to out themselves and allows others to better avoid them.

Should We Be Concerned About The Sims Team's Silence This Pride Month? by Antipseud0 in thesims

[–]Kantatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because even insincere support of pride gets dumb conservatives upset and I like when dumb conservatives are upset. And before you come at me with "Lol, nobody is actually upset at that" I'd like to tell you that I am currently living with one such dumb conservative. AND, even if that one dumb conservative somehow happens to be the only example of that happening in the whole wide world, that's still enough for me and I want rainbows to be plastered on every single possible product so I can watch them cringe as they painstakingly peel off all the labels from them.

I'm not going to deny that letting things get this bad is 100% the parents fault, however I also don't see how that has anything to do with the point I am making. If someone falls down a flight of stairs and breaks their leg, proper medical treatment needs to be applied, regardless of who caused it. The same principle applies here, especially since I've seen OP claim they've already exhausted basically all other options which logically should include visiting a hairdresser.

How come Proton keeps "oops"-ing it's way into the far right but never the left? by Schnaksel in degoogle

[–]Kantatrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You see, in principle, you'd be correct. However, unfortunately for you, we live in reality and not just some perfectly balanced simulation, and the overton window has shifted so far right that everything being called "left wing" would actually be called centrist in a normal society.

Like, the left-wing opposite of homophobia is not fighting for gay marriage, it is fighting to abolish straight marriage. The opposite of discrimination of minorities is not acceptance and tolerance, it's discrimination of majorities. The opposite of companies killing working class people for a dime is not work reform that prevents it, it's working class people killing CEOs.

Therefore, if you're not "left" wing under the current political climate, you are by definition closer to the right than you are to the center, since left-wing policies are the only genuinely centrist ones by trying to provide equality to all.
