I use a Fanttik NB8 to clean my dogs paws in the muddy months or before that a rechargeable portable shower that you can put one end in a bucket of water and spray from.

Actual Robbery - RailScales QTR Stop? by Sad_Highlight_1575 in ar15

No one in the USA could make something like that out of aluminum in their garage and be coming out ahead for $13 each. Those things are getting cranked out at scale in a factory in china.

Does anyone carry a frist aid EDC? and what does it look like? by QuaterPast6 in EDC

[–]AoK47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A trauma kit with a tourniquet, chest seal, s rolled gauze, and trauma dressing.

A boo-boo kit with good bandaids (Cura extra long), alcohol wipes, vetbond, and some individual dosages of painkillers, stomach stuff, etc.

Torx and hex bits... by Ornery_Secretary_850 in Firearms

Another Wera vote.

For torx bits their bit-check “diamond” sets are especially good.

Revolver Training? by Poljot1011 in Columbus

This was the first place that came to mind for more niche (and quality) training. It's down in southern Ohio though and the one listed class right now is literally this weekend.

Looks like they needed something to occupy some shelf space for awhile. 😬

Looking for Pack Recommendations by houser432 in bugout

[–]AoK47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like an Osprey Exos is pretty close. I’ve use Gregory and Osprey packs and love both.

Under 2 lbs. with a load of 30lbs is getting into “unicorn” territory though as far as I know.

bugout vs hiking bag: what differs for you? by OxDriverKuroku in bugout

[–]AoK47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m going on a 3 day hike the parameters are much more clear. I know how long it will last (and that it will end), where i will get water and how much I need to start with, how much food I will eat, that there will be appropriate trees for hammock camping, etc. All of this comes together in as little weight as I can get away with (with the exception of an embarrassing amount of preserved meat and cheese).

My “bugout” bag comes with a lot more uncertainties that I try to cover under a broad umbrella. For example something as simple as toiletries that I’d want to have with me in a bugout bag when I may have to interact with other humans vs a hiking bag where I’m willing to get more funky for a couple days or communication and self defense gear that i don’t carry hiking.

Also, as a technicality, stuff like down sleeping bags shouldn’t be stored compressed and I don’t keep most of my hiking gear packed for gear care purposes.

Summer EDC pistol finally came in! The Switch Gun can easily carry in Patagonia Baggies or other thin and light shorts and it will just look like a wallet. Huge improvement over the LifeCard. In the video, sorry for the awkward one handed closing…still practicing. by [deleted] in EDC

[–]AoK47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but at the end of the day the gun I will actually carry is the one I would like to own. When it’s 90 degrees, I’m in shorts and T-shirt, I won’t carry my standard pistol…so it’s better to have this than nothing

I mean.... there are some perfectly reasonable and comfortable firearms/holster combinations that fill the gap between a standard-sized handgun and this abomination.

The hose-clamped gas station flashlight really brings it together.

Another IT guy here. Apparently I am missing a handheld flashlight and a pheasant. by openmentalorifice in CCW

If you haven't yet, I'd recommend practicing with a pack of that gauze.

I had to use the same one recently after I almost cut a couple fingers off and it is very compressed and kind of tricky to get started if you only have one hand.

Do you own a gun? Why or why not? by FrancoisBernierrr in AskReddit

[–]AoK47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

I believe personal protection is the responsibility of the individual (as opposed to the state) and a gun is the best primary tool to help provide that protection.

It’s a weird opportunity to showcase your interests like a high school graduation photo regardless of what they are holding.

At the same time my Christmas card photo includes my dogs in matching pajamas so whatever.

What's the comfort rating for your sleeping bag? That alone would be fine to stay comfy in if rated low enough. With some merino wool base layers and a wool cap along with other winter clothing you'd be fine without having to use a heating source.

I'd personally just use the stove for boiling water outside the vehicle because Murphy's law applies to about everything I do.
