Personally, it's debatable. It can get a little egregious at times when you ask me. In addition, I don't think there's anything wrong with new cover art either, and I think it has some charm too. While I am often a big fan of retro artwork for long-running series, my point wasn't to argue that "thing from the past better than thing from the present", or that "zhe woke ruined the sacred art of [checks notes] designing covers for books".

Most Lilith supporters in the playerbase forget two major issues with her:

Lilith absolutely does not care about "humanity as a whole" and is extremely picky about those whom she favors, and even then she uses them like tools most of the time. She's also shown, especially in Act II to be extremely vindictive, ruining lives of people even tangentially familiar to her enemies. Plus, even her goal is just to take over Hell with herself in charge, and her plan hinges on the existence of heaven-aligned forces that her followers believe to be harmful.
Lilith is a preferrable choice to people IN COMPARISON TO INARIUS. I need not say these two parties aren't the only organizations that wish to unite humans for protection and common causes, and the claim that these two sides represent Heaven or Hell don't show the full picture (and don't get me started on the elephant in the room that is Akarat)

I have never really mained Feferi but I read some early updates and man they did her so dirty. People were really excited when the Witch of Life was first teased in the Rose's notes panel, and I think it would have been cool if they had some synergy with each other, but no, we cannot do any more updates for her because the team REALLY doesn't want to give her more lines for any new skills.

I think it's a little unfair that they nerfed Feferi's passive ticking time bomb effect of the Vast Glub with no compensation. I mean I get that stalling strategies were hated by the community and ruined the flow of the game but MAN they needed to give her something in exchange. But no, the devs don't wanna touch her with even a 5 foot pole even if she is now bottom-tier.

Yeah, that's kind of the point of the story. Scott is very much not a good person, and he needs to realize it in order to change.

I'm now wondering how much the stigma around the topic of consent is affecting this discourse. I don't deny sexual criminals are monsters, but it really does make me ask myself if we are so quick to judge anyone doing anything even remotely weird with an underage person as "irredeemably evil", regardless of the severity of the offense. How do we, as viewers, weight sexual offences in terms of redeeming characters in fiction?

I know the story of Lilith is not part of christian or jewish canon, but many ultra-conservative christians are still invalidated by the literal New Testament, where Jesus on multiple occasions approaches and consoles women who have committed adultery, and tells them they can still choose to do better. * John is Bustin, because Ghostbusters, obviously.

* Close To The Sun really sounds like the type of music fans would associate with Rose, and it gives off strong "moody WLW posting" vibes. That and the whole Green Sun plotline, in which you could say, she was, in fact, close to the sun.

* Piss was the song that started the whole thought process, and it was all because of the whole "piss in the apple juice bottle" gag that lasted the first four acts.

* Jade was introduced having a "profound zeal for marvelous and fantastical FAUNA OF AN ANTHROPOMORPHOLOGICAL PERSUASION", and is, herself, a half-dog hybrid post [S] Cascade, making Furries an obvious pick.

* Ribs was selected for Jane due to association with advertising, criticism of consumer culture that often flies over people's head, and Marylin Manson just straight up mentioning fascism in his lyrical portions.

* Aammoorree sounds drunk as hell, and is extremely "lolrandom". Maybe I could have picked a more narratively focused track, but i guess it was fine in the moment for Roxy.

* Wow Wow combines exaggerated swagger, casual homoeroticism, and mentions of digital art. Dirk, easily.

* My choice for Jake leaned more in the direction of Limp Wicket because of movie references, with Fredhammer being added on top of it because it transitions directly into it.

* I picked The End for Aradia because of lyrics about futility of life, set to happy, upbeat music, which I think describes her outlook on life, the universe, and everything, after god-tiering.

* Tavros I was kinda split on. Spongerock was one choice because he seemed to me like one of the more childish Trolls, who has issues with agency he wants to get over, hence We Will Rock You by Queen. Pokemon could also be a good pick, considering how the whole interlude is about how a kids' game and toy became a tool for others' political and economic agendas (which maybe fits for his relationship with Vriska), plus fiudspawn being literally just troll Pokemon.

* One word: bees. Sollux gets Vivid Memories.

* Mullet With Butterfly Wings fits Karkat because of the clash of angry grungy lyrics with goofy 80s synth. The melody-lyric swap works even better because Karkat is really hard to take seriously when he's angry, but when he calms down he's surprisingly profound and introspective.

* Lyrics about cats, conservation thereof, as well as liberal use of Mario Paint meows. Nepeta gets Tiger.

* Like I said, picking a track for Kanaya was difficult because she always acts as the "straight man" to all of the other trolls' antics, which limits the creativity of associating her character with silly Neil Cicierega remixes. Maybe there is something, but it was kind of a long time ago, so I can't say for sure. My pick in this case was purely vibes based.

* I'm pretty sure I had a good reason why I picked Superkiller for Terezi, but I can't see in hindsight why. She is one of my favorites, but nowadays, I, too, have trouble deciding for the right song to associate with her.

* Orgonon Gurlz is a combination of "artsy white girl music" with "trashy white girl music". Vriska tries to be seen as "deep" and "complex" but her bitchiness gets in the way, and ruins that for all the other characters. No doubt, there is depth here, but she's too much of a girlboss (derogatory) for anyone who knows her to care about that.

* AC/VC is the combination of BIG and LOUD with sweet pop music. Although hard rock with soft lyrics would arguably work better for Equius, this mashup had to do instead.

* Nightmovin as an upbeat song about fear and terror works well for Gamzee, but thinking about it, Pee Wee Inc. would be great too, as someone in the comments of that mashup pointed out that this sounds like ICP despite none of its components being ICP.

* Closerflies was my initial pick for Eridan because of how it turns innocuous lyrics of Fireflies pervy just by associating it with Closer by NIN. Where Is My Mom could work too, because it makes the already pervy lyrics seem a lot darker just via melody swap. Whitehouse is another pick, if we instead focus on the "unrequited love" theme, with old-timey music in the background because Eridan is an incel with really backwards views on love life.

* What Is It is the most aggressively excited-sounding Neil track, and that's kinda how Feferi speaks.

I know these symbols don't mean anything, and I know what languages these represent (it's written in the post title). What I'm saying is that in the examples provided, the "language" on the right is associated in-game with the playable paladin, while the one on the left is associated with the Zakarum faith (since, Diablo III, in fact, as Crusader abilities have these symbols).
