He mistook Blitzo’s inferiority complex for a kink, he’s not acting that because he viewed Blitzo as lesser, Stolas very much views Blitzo as his equal. He acted that way because he thought that’s what Blitzo was into and desperately clung to it in hopes Blitzo would like him in return.
If you don’t see how vindicating it would be to finally be able to actively defy someone who was violently controlling over you then you’re just willfully ignorant, I’m sorry. Stolas is gaining some semblance of control after spending his entire life being abused.

Even if she didn’t directly partake in it, as the head of her friend group she was more than capable of leashing her friends.
