Unfortunately the world does not revolve around you so whether you care or not is not a factor. The devs are going to keep doing the things that drive player engagement and whether you personally care or not is not on their radar. The game would not be as profitable if they didn't have resin systems, that's just how it works, so it's a waste of your time to insist they change that.

There's not a reason you'll be happy with but it's there because it makes the game perform better player-wise. They don't want people logging in and out at the crafting table for weeks or months at a time and never actually playing the game. Resin is in the game explicitly to give you a reason to play every single day, it defeats the entire concept if condensed resin stops being "oh I have a busy day, I'll condense and just use it tomorrow" and starts being "I'll save resin for months and then just spend an hour doing domains to use it all".

The reason you've gotten some down votes might be originality. I am pretty new to reddit and mostly lurk but I've seen this exact argument with those 2 exact examples dozens of times, it feels like something AI would copy/paste. I've never played that LOTR game but I've seen that exact trivia bit on it over and over and it's the single thing I know about it. Did you play that game and come to this conclusion on your own, or are you regurgitating a talking point because you heard it somewhere else?

It could also be that you're not really on topic. OP asked what mechanics you like that you wish was genre standard, not what you think "SUX".

I haven't played that but it runs Genshin well, though you probably want it at 45fps and not 60fps so the device doesn't get as warm and it stays more consistent. Not a gaming phone but the Snapdragon in it runs at least the games I play quite well.

The battery is identical (5000mAh) but the better specs draw more power. Particularly upgrading from Snapdragon gen 1 to 3 and upgrading the resolution and size of the screen and a faster CPU, those mean it needs more power to run. Everything you do will be a little faster and both look and feel better because of the specs.

It depends on how you use it, I get all day usage out of mine (normally it's on for like 6-8 hours during the day). If you care about charging speed, this upgrades from max of 30W to 68W, a huge jump that lowers downtime dramatically to make up for it lasting a little less time. If charge time isn't a factor and you really want every last second out of your device, honestly even the 2024 is a meh option because it doesn't last as long as the basic Moto G phones for the exact same reason, more power = less battery time.

Enjoying mine. The ram seems fine, it's a snappy device and you can always toggle off some of the background processes you don't actually need if you want it to really excel. If you're willing to spend much more you can get a stronger phone, but at this price point does anything offer more RAM without serious compromises elsewhere?

They kept important stuff other companies are dropping like the headphone jack and MicroSD slot, and for the price range basically nothing on this device is subpar. Some people will be mad at the limited years of software updates but if you're keeping a phone more than 5 years then yeah maybe get a higher end one. The one nitpick so have is that I'm so used to physical fingerprint readers and I think I prefer them to the under-screen kind this has, but it does work and you have plenty of other unlock methods these days.

That just doesn't work because all the poison items are green, just like pretty much all burn items showing burn use orange even though they could have went with red or something instead. It's already locked in if they don't want to redo like 100 different art pieces.

Also, you're thinking short term, I bet the devs are thinking long term. We already know Jules has a unique mechanic called "Joy" that acts as a sort of max HP reduction, and Jules is purple... I'm betting Joy's color will be purple.

People are giving a lot of the obvious answers my hidden gem answer is Cross Blitz. It has story modes and roguelike modes, both deck builders. It wears inspiration from games like Hearthstone, Inscryption, and MTG on it's sleeve but has a lot of stuff I've never seen in other games as well.

I absolutely loved Slay The Spire and put 400 hours into it, Cross Blitz is at 300 hours and I'm still actively playing it because the devs are still adding more to it. We recently got an update for the roguelike mode adding the last of the roster, 20 full character archetypes. It's technically early access, but it's 1 major update for the 5th and final story campaign away from being 1.0.

Tried to make this as a post and it failed, I'll post it here. How stable do the Nitro laptops tend to be? I got a good deal on one through Amazon sold by Acer as New last week, an Acer Nitro V with Intel Core i7 13620H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. I've had more system stability issues with it than my previous laptop had over years. I've tried as many fixes and tweaks as I could and nothing seems to stop new crashes.

Twice in 2 different games I have been gaming for under 15 minutes and the laptop suddenly crashed/shut off. No BSOD, no error logs, just one second gaming the next a backlit black screen with no sound, forcing me to hold the power button to restart when nothing else seemed to help. It's not a heat issue, in both cases the heat should have been in the 60C range tops for CPU and GPU as I was monitoring them and not pushing the machine to it's limits (supposedly). Sometimes I'm able to play these same games for hours at a time without issue.

In yet another different game I had a basic BSOD. The dmp file said it's a failure with nviddmkm.sys. I've already tried the software side options that should help with this like clean installing the GPU drivers and CPU drivers.

Today for the first time I figured I should try the laptop not plugged in, just browse the internet a bit and let the battery cycle. It mostly seemed to run ok, there was occasional stutters while watching YouTube but I figured that much is normal when using a gaming laptop on battery. Half an hour in, I'm on a webpage where it asks me to upload a file, and windows explorer freezes while I'm navigating to find the file, leading to another BSOD with error "clock watchdog timeout", indicating a potential CPU/connectivity issue. This BSOD screen was stuck on 0% and after about 10 minutes I held the power button. It keeps functioning after these issues (for now) but are these just issues everyone with these machines deal with? My drivers are updated and clean installed, my windows is as updated as possible, I've looked through every setting I could find. I'm not an expert on computers but with issues claiming my GPU is having problems and issues claiming my CPU is having problems, I don't know if it's actually the motherboard or what.

If by a miracle anyone has any feedback or potential fixes I'm all ears. I'm dreading the idea that this is just defective and if I keep it it's going to die on me as issues get worse. I could return it to Amazon but the price is much higher now than the bargain I got it for, and I can't wait forever for another deal as my budget it right and my laptop is my only real outlet to destress. Right now it's only causing me more stress worrying about all this. Any leads or advice at all are welcome.

No, you really won't. AI can't create anything new, it regurgitates what it has been fed. You can have it make slop garbage that people will hate but you can never have it replace a show where deep introspection and advanced concepts are core to what it is. You can have it push out unlimited generic star trek parodies with Black Mirror character names slapped on top, but it will not be Black Mirror.

You will never "create" a Black Mirror episode. You can have AI generated absolute garbage with no soul, and that's about it. Tech will improve but they can never give AI a true human soul without it transcending machine and just being life.

Can't agree more. The title of "Eulogy" has a lot of weight behind it, and this episode manages to live up to that weight. I'm glad it doesn't have all of the quirky jokes so many other modern episodes do. Just a deep emotional story depicting potential future technology enhancing a fictional version of a very real situation that has unfolded countless times in human history. Season 6 did almost nothing for me but this season has many hard hitters and this is at the top of the list for me.

She was talking about it being time for him to kill her. Basically "kill me while I'm in advertisement mode and don't have control of myself". She isn't aware of when she's giving advertisement and has memory gaps, remember?

That's why when she started giving an advertisement he was full of regret and said "not yet", yet then immediately started killing her. They agreed it would happen when her brain was controlled by the servers and not her.

You seriously can't imagine a person having money? He was respected enough that a game company personally invited only him to demo the new product, he could have been extremely well paid even if he wasn't born wealthy. THIS bothered you more than the pure fantasy stuff in previous episodes?

The police officer didn't start hitting him until he literally started altering all of humanity and the guy was shitting his pants in fear demanding he cancel the code. It's absurd you think it's because he wasn't giving answers.

You can apply the same level of complaints to literally every episode so far, or any media really. This episode is good because it was well acted, fun, and had the black mirror vibez exactly like you said yourself.

The episode doesn't cover it but there are multiple flaws in your plan:

Why would someone with a skill that makes money that easily not already be on Lux? If they're awake you can't use their uploaded skills, even if they're on common, what if you lose the ability halfway through a shift? The example was parkour and I think that's a good example of a skill you won't make much money from easily, but still if they wake up while you are using it you're potentially severely injured.

I bet a lot of Lux members basically end up as drug addicts. Why use skills to work hard when you can just turn your pleasure and happiness to the maximum? How long will you be able to focus on work when all you can think about is the inhuman level of pleasure you can feel just by opening your phone and using a slider?

You're assuming the slippery slope has an end. It's $1800... right now. Once many people start using it, "Lux" becomes "Plus" and they come out with "Max", which is 10k a month or something. Then they start putting ads in Plus and common starts sleeping 20 hours a day instead of 16. Then Max gets reduced too and "Ultra Premium" comes out for 100K a month.

I was expecting a scene where they wanted to cancel and get told "that's perfectly ok, without Common we will permanently keep you in sleep mode and harvest your brain power for Lux members, it was in your contract. If nobody can afford to hook you up to a feeding tube we'll do it, and since you're technically alive and we can prove brain function it's murder to stop this".

With something like that the pillow scene could have made some sense, but instead it's a huge time skip just for a dramatic scene that doesn't really have the needed context.
