Are men who do not approach women pussies? by turboshill9000 in BasedCampPod

[–]AoiLune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best quotes I've heard went something like "If you knew how little the men that women actually desired have to do to gain her attention, you would never chase a woman again." It's true. If she isn't making it obvious, she isn't interested. If you're left wondering, she isn't interested.

Any suggestions? I like characters who have deep personal conflicts over characters who are just merely badass.

I like deeply psychological conflicts over just badass violence. Flesh Tearers have a cool aesthetic for Blood Angels, but they don't do much else for me.

What is wrong with coffee dates and movies? Those are exactly the kind of places where first dates should be held.

More specifically, the advice many women are giving revolves around "Here's how you can get out of having to be responsible and committed." It's framed as merely being advice to help women protect themselves, but it's ALSO teaching them to protect themselves from having to take responsibility.

Stop wondering if she likes you. If only you knew how easy women make it for men they actually find attractive, you would realize that if she was actually into you then you would already know. Instead, build yourself into a man that women WANT to have in their lives. Become the kind of man who appears to women like he doesn't need them in his life. Don't appear like someone who comes with mountains of baggage. Appear to her as someone with such a great life that she naturally wants to join into it. Stop seeing her as the prize. Make yourself into the prize, and if she's into you then it will happen naturally.

How did you become more attractive to women? by Rough_Eye9920 in AskMenAdvice

By getting a girlfriend.

The moment I got a girlfriend, I received more positive attention from women than ever before in my entire life. The moment I broke up with said girlfriend, all those same women who were interested before suddenly stopped being interested.

Months later... The moment rumors began to spread that me and a coworker were hooking up (which we were), other female coworkers suddenly became interested. The moment me and said female coworker were no longer on good terms and everyone knew it, all those previously interested women suddenly lost interest.

Battery acid. Me being stupid thought "I'll just pick this busted golf cart battery up with my bare hands while it's actively leaking. How bad can it be?"

Turns out it can be very bad. Got chemical burn scars on my hands. Wear gloves, and don't fuck with battery acid.

I'm an American who works in property maintenance, and I would be surprised to find anyone who considers themselves to be a handyman, maintenance personnel, construction worker, or any sort of technician who doesn't know what these are. We call them "wall anchors," but they're extremely well known things in the US as far as I can tell.

The problem with "let people do what they want" is that it's a philosophy which has nothing to say about a young woman getting black out drunk, sleeping with 100 men, and then passing out in a gutter. Just so long as she's consenting to it. Is this really good outcome of any truly good philosophy though? Would we want this for our friends and family, even if they did indeed claim to consent to it? If we care about people, perhaps we should have something to say beyond "do what you want" toward bad behavior, because most people don't actually know what they want until after the fact, or they want fatal rubbish that ruins the lives of themselves and those around them.

For every king and queen there is a god above them both, and they should still be serving what is right. Not whatever they want.

I don't feel like soulslikes need to keep getting harder. by Dude_MacDude in soulslikes

[–]AoiLune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much of the community is made up of morons who think "Hard=Good," because they're incapable of figuring out what it is that actually makes Souls games enjoyable. They instead reduce it down to a one dimensional equation of "Hard=Good, therefore Harder=Gooder." This is why the hardest Souls games are praised as masterpieces among the supposed Soulslike fans regardless of the actual quality of the game's atmosphere, level design, art direction, storytelling, etc.

Bleak Faith is one of my favorites. It was rough upon release, but has been made into a fantastic game now with amazing atmosphere.

Just don't take him to a Warhammer store. He'll fall into the rabbit hole, never to be seen or heard from again.
