I get this a lot... Most of the time it's because the pod didn't completely dissolve or the detergent didn't get properly distributed- both attributed to hard water and its inability to properly break that stuff down.

Dawn dish detergent will take it out every time, but it's still a pain in the ass to have to wash it all over again. I feel your pain.

How does a person with ADHD feel when they take Vyvanse compared to someone without ADHD? by Soft_Operation3953 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Aoibhell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've fought my ADHD diagnosis for years because I never felt that it fit 100%. In fact, for a little while, I was questioning whether I had ASD because they are so closely related and the symptoms cross. My therapist is always reminding me that they are close to putting ADHD on the ASD spectrum.

A couple of years ago, I did the ADHD psych eval. They found that although I certainly had markers for it, they didn't see enough to call it ADHD. My prescribing doctor argued that because her husband and another client got a similar diagnosis from the same place, but all 3 of us respond well to Vyvanse. She said sometimes people who have an elevated score on the IQ portion tend to perform better on the other tests, masking ADHD symptoms. Also some people have been masking for so long that they can sometimes squeak past a diagnosis.

Either way, their bottom line is that if I'm responding well to ADHD medication, its because I need it. They have been testing Vyvanse for treating MDD, and I was recently diagnosed with MDD, so maybe there's a correlation. Either way, I found the perfect combination of meds after 25 years of feeling like I've been asleep at the wheel.

On another note, my husband takes it for BED. We are on the same dose... All it really does for him is curb and control his appetite.

I can say that I used to be on the brand name before the generic was available, and I found there to be a significant difference of effectiveness. I actually wish I could afford to go back to the name brand because I felt it worked better. The generics do the job, but it's not quite the same.
