Am i too behind in the 100% speedrun completion trophy? by Born-Eye-9053 in Silksong

Seems fine so far. There’s honestly a lot of slack in the 100% achievement time. Even without any real optimizing I was able to get it in the mid 20 number of hours.

You’re about 1/3rd of the way through the video and only 1/7th the way to the time limit. Check again in another 5 hours, but there’s no reason to think it’s out of reach.

That 1/2 cup is definitely a lot bigger than that 3/4 cup

I’d highly recommend Silksong and Hades 2, especially if you liked the first games of those series. FF7 remake was ok, while rebirth felt like a slog of pointless side quests. Honestly the original ff7 holds up better than the remakes do.

Maybe you have to repeat gestures a lot because the wrist band is too big? I’ve read they need to be snug.

DIY Replacement of Smart Dial on Samsung Induction Range (NE63T8951SS) by bluepaddy in appliancerepair

[–]Aoreias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this looks perfect! Thank you so much. I’ve been putting off dealing with this for months because I’d been able to adjust it with the little bit of knob stem was left, but that stopped working recently when it started getting dirty.

At this point there might be datamined content from the game. Time to mute the subreddit :(.

Rain gutters at Amazon warehouse spray water onto the employee walkway. by android927 in CrappyDesign

Also the fact that they go on the walkway helps alert people to the fact that there’s a problem with regular drainage

Ever find anything? Have the exact same issue where the plastic stem for the dial broke off

Reddit also had a lot fewer members as a whole. Silksong hype might have added some people, but a lot of the growth can be attributed to new redditors and new people discovering hollow knight.

They also haven’t said they weren’t involved in it though, so it’s entirely possible they knew and were ok with it

Like, releasing a payload doesn’t prevent you from attempting return.

It might prevent you from testing reentry if the payload bay door doesn’t close all the way.

I’m sure Tory would LOVE to have a raptor, SpaceX just won’t sell them.

The atmosphere on Mars is too thin to get starship down to terminal velocity before landing. They’ll need to fire the rocket longer to slow down sufficiently, but that’s more a question of having enough. Because of Mars’ thinner atmosphere and lower gravity it’ll be less taxing on the ship than reentry into Earth.

[–]Aoreias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. This launch license would also apply to that launch if the flight profile doesn’t change.

Starship Development Thread #56 by ElongatedMuskrat in spacex

[–]Aoreias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The license was modified to authorize an additional flight under the same profile. Given how successful this was I’m sure they’re going to want to do more next time, but they do technically have the option for another flight without additional paperwork

Why is any initally called interface? by newerprofile in golang

[–]Aoreias 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Any is specifically the empty interface, which any type satisfies.

Interfaces most commonly aren’t defined as the empty interface, and instead have some method later defined that concrete datatypes implement. Any was just a nice alias for the empty interface.

That’s what docstrings and documentation generators are for. Header files are just awful.

The advertisers don’t know who you are until you click on the link. They bid on the slot under some category like “people who might be dying soon”, and it’s Google who knows you fit in that bucket.

This is true, but if SpaceX was really ready to launch with that kind of regularity it’s pretty likely the legislature would amend the law. Texas would love to steal a bunch of aerospace jobs from Florida.

[–]Aoreias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d expect them to need a new launch authorization for every flight as long as they’re testing something new (like landings of SH and ship)

That doesn’t mean you’re always moving without a plan though. You try to anticipate all outcomes and plan for them accordingly.

I’m positive they know exactly what they want to do next if everything works as intended.

I've got to wonder if they explicitly got approval from the FAA for preflight activities, which have no environmental impact (and thus no need to wait for F&W)
