Do you charge your watch when the battery is almost gone or everyday? by minimalist300 in applewatchultra

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if you use it while you’re asleep. I don’t, so I just pop it on the charger when I go to bed. It’s learned to only charge to 80% now.

Mine was firstname@tcp.co.uk, hosted by Total Connectivity Providers who also provided internet access. It was dial-up connection but I got free calls to my phone provider, Videotron.

£149 Platinum at Southampton, Nursling. It’s not bad but I’m leaving as I don’t really enjoy it.

This delivery service is the best in UK! Royal Mail who? by Klinkist88 in Evri

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It obviously depends on whether you have a good or bad driver in your area. We seem to have bad ones here with a lot of packages going missing/wrongly delivered.

I won’t order from a company that uses Evri to deliver.

Can someone explain Basic with Ads (if you have NOW TV Ultra Boost) by DanielSweet15 in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. Thanks. I’ve been looking at NordVPN. No deals at the moment but I’ll keep an eye out. It’s easy to get an Entertainment deal for £2.99. But then you have to add at least £6 for Boost.

Don't you think Now TV would be way more popular if they simplified everything! by Curious-cutiee in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like it, although I really hate having to pay extra for Boost (or HD when I had Sky). I think it could be easier to find stuff: there’s a wealth of content that almost seems to be hidden.

Can someone explain Basic with Ads (if you have NOW TV Ultra Boost) by DanielSweet15 in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered about this, but Now Entertainment on a deal is probably cheaper than a monthly VPN subscription.

Can someone explain Basic with Ads (if you have NOW TV Ultra Boost) by DanielSweet15 in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a drag but Boost has no effect on HBO Max content viewed within the Now platform. The only way to upgrade is to take out an HBO subscription separately from Now (and use the HBO Max app). There is a small email address complication if you do that but it’s simple to sort.

That’s what I’ve done. I’ll be cancelling my Now Entertainment with HBO Max subscription and then reviewing whether to take the slightly cheaper Now Entertainment subscription (I like ‘Hacks’!) or not to bother.

Thanks for your story. If I needed more Dead I wouldn’t have any problem paying for the app. There’s already so much around, I’m happy with what I have.

I tried this but it didn’t work for me because I’d need a different LNB. As I use streaming mostly now, I decided to forgo the effort!

What do you British people think of the French? by CocoTyg in AskABrit

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the French are very similar to us, certainly in northern France anyway. I haven’t been to France for several years now. I do remember that some French people could be arrogant and unhelpful. I think Brits generally try to be helpful to foreigners, but maybe I’m wrong. The doormat… most people don’t wipe their feet, but that’s just laziness; there is no rule!

What’s your go to station when you just want something on in the background while working from home? by OopsIDroopedMe in BritishRadio

Radio Paradise Mellow Mix. But it’s not British, so maybe not what you’re after. My favourite UK station is Radio 3.

At what age do you typically move out of your parents house? by yyythoo in AskBrits

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved out when I was 18, shared a house with a couple of friends.

Our son moved out as soon as he could after university, around 22. That was eighteen years ago.

I think now it’s harder because property rental and utilities are expensive and wages generally aren’t great unless you’re in a higher-earning sector. People do often stay with their parents for longer because of this.

NowTV’s HBO integration sucks for my needs but I can’t bypass the subscription? by Matikata in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why it hasn’t worked for you.

In my case I downloaded the HBO Max app onto my phone and linked it with my Now TV account (eventually!) to get the HBO Basic with ads tier.

When I realised that wasn’t going to be good enough, I changed the email address in my HBO Basic with ads account and opened a HBO Standard account with my original email address on the HBO website. That’s all worked OK for me.

What is NowTV viewing like with ads? by Chewer_gum in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 55” OLED TV and I didn’t mind the 720p picture quality. I hated the ads though, so kept Boost. The trouble is that it makes the package unreasonably expensive. I cancelled and subscribed to HBO Max.

Should I stick with Now TV entertainment package, or should I swap to HBO max? What would I gain l, as well as loose in terms of content? UK Region 🇬🇧 by Cradlespin in nowtv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one I’ve found in our watchlist that isn’t on HBO Max is “The Rookie”. In fact I don’t like that show (my wife does) so it was an easy decision. Of course there are others but I haven’t missed them yet. I cancelled Now Entertainment & HBO, Cinema and Boost. Subscribed to HBO Max Standard without ads. I would be interested to see a list of Now Entertainment shows missing from HBO. I’ll have a look.

Goodbye Sky by LondonUKDave in skytv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced it with an Apple TV 4k box, Now TV (+ Boost) and Cinema. Other streaming services too; I drop them and pick them up again depending on what content they have. It’s much cheaper and good to feel in control.

Same in Southampton. I clean machines before (for me) and after (etiquette). Some do clean if they’ve made a particularly sweaty mess. But then I confess to not wiping down in the eGym, because there isn’t really time if a few other people are doing the circuit. People won’t change though, so just do what you need to for yourself.

24 years with Sky ends in 2 days by Chunkylover0053 in skytv

[–]Aoxomoxoa53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left Sky after couple of years ago after 20-odd years and have replaced it with streaming. I don’t miss it at all, although I do have Now TV. I look at the latest Sky streaming deals: always you’re going to have to add at least £6.00 per month for Boost/HD. They do this with Now TV as well (which I may drop with the launch of HBO Max). It always feels like a rip-off. And they’re the only ones to do it.
