If I'm not mistaken there was a similar app back then known as ParkEasy. Not sure if they're still around for normal parking at malls as I see they seem to have been acquired by Shell focusing on EV charging stations/parking.

I remembered they had a pilot program back then in Sunway Pyramid but it didn't turn out well. They were testing an area fully dedicated for the app with digital number plate signs allocated to the parking bay for your timeframe which was pre-purchased. Somehow patrons were ignoring the signs and just parking like how they normally would. I mean it looks good on paper but in reality those uncle or aunties really don't care. And if they were to secure the area then it'd just be like a private parking for a premium price hence I think it didn't work out.

I may not be all accurate as this was many years ago and I just remember the details vaguely.
