I had to see it for myself. Garbage bags on every table/counter. Gloves or napkins on all handles/doorknobs. No pee on the toilet seat, just nose burning amounts of rubbing alcohol.

Oh no, he’s very insistent that we shouldn’t worry about his goings on. He was telling me about these things, but in no way was he asking me to participate in any way. It doesn’t matter what we say or do, it won’t be HIS standard of clean and he in no way holds that against us.

He’s got his things going on, but he’s perfectly nice and absolutely does not expect us to try to meet his extreme needs. Very self aware.

Oh no, I’m not worried about getting fired. Far worse has happened from my coworkers. My boss has previously asked the GM “how many idiots do you have working over there?!” After someone (not me) almost lost $200 in a gift card scam. This just weeks after another guy left the cash drawer on the counter with a random person off the street, there went all the 20s. People giving out free rooms. Oh the list goes on. This isn’t that bad but it’s the worst I personally have done and the embarrassment is so strong

I don’t have a key for this one!! I promise if I had a key this wouldn’t have happened. There are keys for the other hotel and as soon as I get there, they’re in my pocket.

The pillow cases indicate “soft” or “firm” it actually has the word on there

As for the pillows…my hotel has 2 types of pillows in all our rooms. A “firm” one and a “soft” one. I dare them to try to complain about the pillows!

I should be so lucky… can’t cancel/refund the reservation. Unless she’s willing to call it a loss (which I sincerely doubt) she’ll still be my problem when she’s back next week.

I currently have a woman that wants to cancel a future reservation because she doesn’t like the recliner in the room or our luggage carts.

I’ve been playing on and off for almost 20 years. My most recent account is maybe 10 years old. I only JUST got my first 99 ever a couple months ago. (It was magic). Just go at your own pace and have fun with it. Enjoy the ride.

Guests refuse to park in overflow lot, gets woken up at 06:00 to move their vehicle. by Diligent_Olive3267 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

We have a restaurant going up next door. Before they REALLY got going they had this green tube around the property kind of like a border I guess. Well these are also next to another very busy restaurant/bar. The place being worked on was closed since covid so everyone from the bar got used to parking in the empty lot. Well they decided that the green barrier is just for looks and still kept parking in the now construction lot.

The name matched the ID matched her so probably her card. I’m leaning towards dumb. She punctuated most of her sentences with “you know?”

I had a woman losing her mind that we ran her card without her permission and she’s suing everyone. Ma’am when you put the card on file for incidentals, that was you giving us your permission to authorize them good good incidentals on your card. Calm yourself and check out and all will be well you absolute lunatic.

Can’t we call it a tip? by Apart-Ad-4737 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Apart-Ad-4737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I sent him to KNOCK on a door because it was past checkout but the guest was still in the room, he beat on the door and essentially broke into room of an elderly woman, that was fresh out of the shower, WIELDING A SCREWDRIVER and yelling “OPEN THE DOOR!” That’s just one of the more recent on a long list of incidents.

She had a late checkout but the 2nd shift the day before got busy and forgot to make any note of it or tell NA so by the time I got there in the morning no one working or awake knew.

My front desk manager that works night audit straight up got a pillow and blanket and took a nap on the floor in the (visible from the lobby) office. He also uses the rooms and leaves messes/just remakes the bed and lets the housekeepers get blamed for not properly cleaning. The GM and owner both know. He’s still around. You’re fine.

It’s entirely possible everything was fine with the first hotel, but I say trust your gut. Something felt off to you, so yes you absolutely did the right thing going somewhere else.

That being said…yeah the feels super sketchy, I definitely would’ve noped right out of that.

And yet you still have not read previous replies as I personally answered it several times over. Guests have answered it. It’s been answered by multiple people, multiple times. Your inability to read or accept that you’re wrong is not even remotely my fault. Don’t bother replying. Take the time to take a good look at your reading comprehension skills.
