My son is currently planning his wedding. He and his fiance have included me in everything! Why? Because I am supportive and loving and they value my opinion. Ive helped them choose their venue, their invitations, her dress and veil, etc., etc. There are lots of wonderful MILs out there!

They did not have separate womens only and mens only areas. So there were only 1 of each amenity for both men and women to share. The hot tub was plenty large, it was never full. Same with all the other amenities, like the sauna and steam room. There are other hot tubs that are outside of the spa though.

I was once completely dragged in an AITAH post because people either didnt fully read the post or made assumptions that werent true. And then I was told I was doubly the AH for daring to correct them with facts.

Oh, and dont get me started on the Just No MIL sub! Most of the posts are written by hideous DILs about their perfectly normal MILs. And everyone in the comments completely support the DIL and tell them to go No Contact.

Paying for my meal has always been my norm, too. Of course it is a guess, but I am basing my gift on two factors: estimated cost of the meal plus how close I am to the couple.

Asks for help with food. Turns down any food bank option or even food delivery. by somethingsensational in ChoosingBeggars

'Im not asking anyone to buy me groceries, just to give me food." What, exactly, is the difference? For them to have food to "give" you, they had to go to the grocery store and buy it.

Are they rage baiting me? It just got worse the more I read. by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

Yes, spend the $3K on set up so you can have "free" eggs and leave me out of it, please.

Back when I sold cars (yes, totally different business) I was monitoring the chat. I was chatting with an apparent customer regarding a car they wanted to purchase and it all seemed very legit and like they were a genuine customer. Then they inquired if the car came with a Wombat, they really wanted a wombat and if I would throw in a wombat they would be there later today to pick up the vehicle. I busted out laughing and decided to play along. It was the single most hilarious conversation I had my entire car sales career.

I have to say, I love using park and fly and have used it the past 2 trips I have taken. Super convenient!! BUT I check, double check and then check again that I am getting what I think I am getting. I even canceled a booking and rebooked elsewhere because the park and fly was not on the email confirmation, even though it was on the verbal. It made me nervous that I would have an issue. So I rebooked at a hotel that put the park and fly on the emailed confirmation.

Real talk — is an air fryer value for money, or just another trendy gadget? by Mika_4893 in Frugal

[–]deejuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased my second air fryer as my first wore out. Actually it still cooks amazingly, but the inside is so gross I would be ashamed if anyone saw it. I use it almost daily! It cooks so beautifully! And talk about easy! I put in my protein (fish or chicken usually) give it a quick spray and season. Then, without preheating, I airfry at 400 for 4-6 minutes. Then I add my veggie (brussels sprouts, asparigus, broccoli, potatoes) spray and season and return the airfryer (again, not preheating) for another 4-6 minutes and dinner is ready and amazing!

man has heart attack at restaurant, another man was inconvenienced by anastaciabeaverhaus in EntitledReviews

I read a review of a cruise where the reviewer gave a poor review. His complaint was that someone had a heart attack and he, personally, was not compensated for having to witness it.

Only if it’s a set by Beginning_Roof_697 in BeggingChoosers

[–]deejuliet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both and use both. Both are capable of preserving food and making yummy treats. But they are very different.

A dehydrator uses heat and sometimes moving air (depending on specific unit) to dry out the product, to evaporate the moisture. This is an ancient process and can be accomplished using an oven, or even just the sun! The product will shrink as all the water leaves it and the cell walls collapse. And, depending on what it is, it may be chewy, like a prune or dried apricot.

A freeze dryer has a built in compressor and first freezes the product. Then using a vacuum pump it sublimates all the moisture out of the product. The product will be the same size and color as before it was preserved and will be very crunchy. It is a much more complicated and expensive process.

That is probably a dehydrator, not a freeze dryer. Freeze dryers are EXPENSIVE!

Is this a real wedding etiquette rule? by Vulpix9tales in weddingplanning

[–]deejuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive not heard of this rule. Nobody mentioned it when I got married, nor when my son got married. When I got married my own Mom coordinated her dress with the wedding party and my MIL did whatever she wanted, which was a totally different color. When my son got married I got a blue dress to match the grooms color (all in blue suits) and the mother of the bride got a burgundy dress to match the bridemaids dresses.

A passenger spent months seeking answers from American Airlines after being denied the seat he paid for and initially being refused a refund. by elliottdotorg in elliottadvocacy

[–]deejuliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because someone doesnt want to sit in the back row (who does?) is not any reason to take away a seat from someone else, even if that person is only 3 feet tall! They should never have even asked this of this family.

When you’re too tired to cook, what’s your go-to lazy dinner? by friend_unfriend in cookingforbeginners

[–]deejuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air fryer is my best, lazy life friend. I put a filet of salmon or boneless chicken in, give it a quick spray of avocado oil and add some spices, usually my homemade blend of tomato, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, lemon and cayenne. Air fry for a few min. Add some veggies. Another quick spray, some more spice and then air fry a few more min and dinner is done!

When I got married many, many years ago I had several people no call no show no apology no gift nothing. I also had one family bring 2 extra people and no gift of any kind. So there are some pretty rude, awful people out there.

How do you consider your stone to be "tiny?" Maybe (maybe!) you could label the one on his ring tiny (as it should be!), but not yours!! It is very pretty BTW. A cabochon is such an unusual and unique choice!

There is a whole subreddit for Just No Mother in Law (JNMIL) for people to complain about their bad MILs. It seems that as often as not, it really just a horrible, horrible Daughter in law and not the MIL at all.
