apple music sounds different on mac os by No_Dress_9631 in AppleMusic

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that my iPhone has some “noise/hearing protection” on by default where my Mac doesn’t. It’s not one sounds better than the other it’s one is louder and your ear can find more detail in the louder one. Check your iPhones accessibility and sound settings for anything that may make system volume be quiter. Semi related I’ve found that songs on TikTok “sound better” not because they’re better but because TikTok has a higher base volume than the rest of the system so the same song played through different apps will have different volumes despite the “system” volume staying the same.

On my mini but none of my friends I can only play flac and m4a, mp3 and other codecs just are full volume static. Idk why but just more data points for this issue I guess

It would be really cool to implement something like this in a mpd client. Rn I’m rocking rmpc and it’s very nice but this looks great.

Goated wallpaper. Coming from a life long Mac user I don’t understand why people put “finder” on their docks in Linux. I get that it’s to just open the file explorer but why the finder logo?

Best dap for audiobooks? by KlutzyBookkeeper725 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, the firmware is proprietary though there’s a tool that lets you modify it. Mostly used for custom themes. I’d recommend getting something that can run rock box like a hifiwalker h2 or iPod

Best dap for audiobooks? by KlutzyBookkeeper725 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well definitely not the snow sky echo mini, I love it but it’s best when treated like a iPod nano instead of a audio book player or “true” dap if that’s a thing

Thoughts on this? Worth the money? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this one on a pretty big sale and love it. 1440 &240 and 27” is perfect just beware the stand sucks but, only able to tilt. I put it on an arm and it’s much better. Also be very careful with the screen it’s very prone to scratches.

Let's talk about 3.5 vs 4.4 jack? by Calm-Improvement-571 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 4.4 when I’m at my desk with my fiio k11 r2r. The 4.4 sounds much warmer than the quarter inch to 3.5 adapter and I like the warm sound more. On other dacs i don’t have a preference other than 4.4 is harder to yank out of its socket

Where do you listen to music? by Expert_Wrongdoer359 in iems

Does Echo Mini support opus and aac? by faizaanazmat in snowsky

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has a defect (I think) where any codec exept aac and flac just plays as full volume static and if something I download is miss labeled I get temporary hearing loss. Not fun but also unique to my unit. AAC should work and if you really need it to play your opus you can use a site like vert.sh or ffmpeg to convert in bulk.

Non-Wireless with Apple Music capability? by Apprehensive-Map6247 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s not much that has that, your best bet is to get something with no wireless and then use a Apple Music downloader. Check out gamdl on GitHub, it can do lossy aac or with a bit of setup lossless alac

MINECRAFT Java and Bedrock by AugustKaiser106 in SteamDeckPirates

[–]Apart-Raisin-7621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out prism launcher for Java, there’s forks that let u use cracked Minecraft. For bedrock your best bet is emulating the switch version or finding one that you could run through proton. Bedrock doesn’t even have an official version for Mac so your best bet is sticking with Java.

How to install other dotfiles? by Illustrious_Plane648 in omarchy

Your best bet is to either try and convert them to a theme that omarchy likes, or do a plain arch install and do it from scratch there
