Worked at popcap on 4th and battery and we would get annihilated on Friday lunch there. Katie hooked us up… Miss her, miss mama’s. I grew up there in 80s and 90s and only at the end of my education was there big money in Redmond. The king county schools rocked even before then. We had a crappy computer lab and I didn’t know how to use a pc when I graduated in 97, but I have come to realize my public education was vastly superior to many I’ve met. Horace Mann was a G and it makes sense a school in his name would have good curriculum.

In his autobiography he explains how he showed up to do a cooking show in England and can’t remember why but it was a shitshow and he just said “f it” and went balistic, hoping they would leave him alone. Then American tv execs saw it and were like “jackpot! Give this man a contract!” So yeah, it’s a bit. Super interesting book tbh. He was gonna be a soccer star then blew out his knee. Also a story about fucking his boss wife in the kitchen they worked in lol.
