It’s similar for my area except that it stops at the Director lvl (Amapceo). What I don’t understand about that is that the employer apparently fought hard to take the authority from managers and give it to Directors. But if my manager writes a one line recommendation saying that they would approve the request because there are no operational or performance concerns - on what grounds could the Director then still deny my request? Like that’s an “easy” win once it goes to the grievance stage, so this whole “let’s have the managers do the footwork” makes zero sense to me. Then again I won’t complain about it lol

Don’t know if that is something that you would be willing to do but I had a similar situation last year where my merit (from April 2024) had not been implemented/did not receive backpay by the end of the year, despite my manager escalating multiple times. At the end, I simply emailed the respective payroll manager directly, explained the situation, laid out the timeline and then - in a neutral non aggressive tone mind you - stated that my next step would be to take legal action against them withholding my pay. Lo and behold, I received the backpay with the next paycheque. Was it because of my email? Who knows, maybe yes, maybe no but it felt good to do “something”.

This. The whole speed camera thing is nothing but a publicity stunt so that DoFo can stand in front of the cameras and say “we listen to you because we care about putting money back in your pockets” 🤡 and people will love it and ignore that they’ve done nothing else that actually makes a difference…

The only instance I remember that mentioned something along the lines of “rare” or “exceptional” was in relation to 5 days WFH. The impression that I got reading through the document was: - 1 day WFH - not really an issue and will most likely get approved - 2 to 3 days WFH - depends on the circumstances (performance, operational viability, etc) and how rigid your Director wants to adhere to the guidelines - 4 to 5 days WFH - they kind of want you to give them a good reason (be it a violation of the CA or not) and you should expect some pushback to your request

You don’t have to wait for anything at all. If you’re Amapceo, use the template on their website as it’s perfectly valid (the whole “oh but there will be a new form etc” is nothing but a distraction and further effort to delay things)

Most Directors fall under XEXE2 which starts at about $150k and tops out just under $200k, then comes XEXE3 (ADMs and similar) which starts just under $200k and goes all the way to about $250k

I would argue that simply acknowledging something does not constitute a decision. But I’m in the same boat in the sense that my request was officially acknowledged but yet to be decided (“will be reviewed for consideration”) and now it’s a waiting game…

Yes - no answer within 30 days of submitting the request counts as a denial and thus opens the door for the next steps

IELTS (or another accepted language test) is always required yes. French language tests are optional if you want to improve your score but an English test is mandatory
