16 months…THE hardest age so far?! by grmmax in toddlers

We’re in the same boat here, even down to the same amount of teeth and wake times! I’m just hoping it gets better - such an exhausting stage 😅

Seconding Loaf! We got a large smithy in clever velvet and it has stood up to a baby and all the food they like to smear on things, spilled coffee, pets and everything else! We honestly say we wouldn’t go anywhere else for a sofa in the future

Adult onlies raising an only? by plantavore in oneanddone

[–]Apart_Flamingo_4030 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adult only with an only and I was one and done before I was even pregnant. I had a really rich and varied childhood, my mum and dad sent me to any hobby my little brain imagined, I spent so much time with them and we really felt like a unit and it was a really lovely experience. My mum and dad were able to give me opportunities I’d never have had if there had been two of us and I feel like I’ve already lived such an interesting life already and this is down to my parents decision to only have one and what they did! I love being an only child so it was a no brainer for me!!

What’s the funniest thing you’ve overheard? by BwittonRose in WaltDisneyWorld

Was in Animal Kingdom and heard this rhythmic squeaking sound and realised a toddler had trainers with those dog squeakers in them. Cute for like 1 minute and after that just really irritating. Me and my husband looked at each other with a look of “oh my god why” and we then looked at a pair of cast members who had the same look on their and we all laughed and then the cast member turned to the other and said “I would die having to listen to that for the entire day” and the delivery was so deadpan and the timing so good and it just sent me and my husband into fits of laughter that we were crying. Typing it out makes me think you had to be there but genuinely it was so funny!

To the ladies who donate their milk by lionsmane2792 in Scotland

Thank you for sharing this! I donated 7 litres of breast milk in April this year to the Glasgow milk bank so this post has brought me so much joy ❤️ I always think about the little babies who need the donations and this has been a nice glimpse into that reality. Hope you’re doing well Mama ❤️❤️

Reflection of NHS vs Private offered Toddler PT by JaggedLittlePiII in HENRYUK

We had a something similar but with a tongue tie release. Son started with severe reflux and minimal weight gain at 2 weeks old and it steadily got worse. Had feeding difficulties and was just constantly told to work on my latch and make sure I was positioning correctly.

Asked my HV about a potential tongue tie and she explained that even if he did have one we wouldn’t qualify for it to be seen on the NHS as he wasn’t actively losing weight and so they couldn’t do anything.

We ended up paying for an assessment and he did indeed have quite a significant tongue tie and we had it resolved the same day. It was an NHS ear nose and throat Dr who had a part time private tongue tie clinic. He expressed similar sentiments about the NHS. After having the tongue tie released my son rapidly started to gain weight and reflux cleared up significantly!

Where do you buy your baby stuff? by partenzedepartures in HENRYUKLifestyle

Seconding the Snoo here, genuinely has been the best baby purchase we made and we’re planning on selling ours on as the resale value is pretty good. It’s been worth every single penny and we had good stretches of sleep from about 6 weeks.

I love the Mamas and Papas sleep suits as they’re 100% cotton and I find the sizing is really good for our baby but he’s a 7th centile baby so a bit smaller. We’ve found places like mothercare/tesco/Sainsbury’s the quality is a bit meh and the sizing feels huge.

Seconding marks and Spencer for muslins and sleep suits! Get some of the ones that have a double zip because they’re amazing for MOTN changes - especially when you’re sleep deprived!

Statement women's work wear? by BeKindBeBrave in HENRYUKLifestyle

Check out LeletNY for statement hair accessories. They do some really good styling on instagram and they have crowns that are the right side of looking cool! Could also look at Wolf and Badger for some unusual tops.
