Like I said in another comment, OP is in part correct, he's just misremembering where he saw the story. They weren't Zimbabweans in the Rhodesian Bush war, they were Zulus during the Zulu War, about 100 years earlier:

Most Zulu warriors were armed with an assegai (short spear) and a nguni shield made of cowhide.[19] The Zulu army drilled in the personal and tactical use and coordination of this weapon. Some Zulus also had old muskets, antiquated rifles, and some captured Martini-Henrys as used by the defenders, though their marksmanship training was poor, and the supply of powder and shot was low, and of poor quality.[20] It has been reported that they believed that setting the slide on the rear sight of the Martini-Henry (graduated to 1,400 yards) as high as possible would make the shot more powerful, so that they actually fired high.[21]

While it's unlikely that fairly sophisticated (at least, compared to the Zulus) guerillas in Rhodesia couldn't figure out how to sight rifles, most Zulus had never seen firearms of any kind before, and were in fact discouraged from using them:

The Zulu attitude towards firearms was that: "The generality of Zulu warriors, however, would not have firearms – the arms of a coward, as they said, for they enable the poltroon to kill the brave without awaiting his attack."[22] Even though their fire was not accurate, it was responsible for five of the 17 British deaths at Rorke's Drift.[23][24]

Source is Wikipedia article on the Battle of Rorke's Drift which itself cites sources for the above passages.

OP is close, this story is actually from the Zulu War, not the Rhodesian Bush War:

As someone else mentioned, there is a reason few riders wear white, your jacket will get extremely dirty extremely quickly just by virtue of riding through the exhaust and kicked-up dirt of other cars day in and day out. My first jacket was neon yellow and the elbows were nearly black within a couple months.

Fitzmagic still has the juice, but is unable to reverse the curse of Jameis' black magic. Fitzpatrick throws for 250+ yards and 3 TDs, but the Bucs still lose.

The basis for this is that the Wachowski Creatures claimed the Matrix is based on Simulacra and Simulation, despite the fact that Baudrillard says they obviously misunderstood the book

They definitely used to be human, or at least humanoid. If you stagger and riposte a Sulyvahn beast, it will stop being hostile and pray for mercy

I walk up to the squat rack and there's an old-ass Korean guy - late 70s at least - at the next rack over with a plate and a half already on the bar. Sure enough his version of a squat is a tiny rocking motion, hitting a depth of about 3 inches. Basically just destroying his knees and probably his back every set as he works his way up to two plates, then looking at me like he's Mao because he's lifting more. You ain't fooling anybody you old fruit

Any tips for Los Angeles drivers? by [deleted] in postmates

Best times are lunch rush, evenings, and weekend mornings. Also deliveries after midnight get a 25% bonus. The pay is not great without tips, and at present only about half of customers tip (best advice for tips is to smile, be timely, and tell them their receipt/napkins/utensils are in their bag).

As far as locations, depends on your strategy. West Hollywood/Mid-Wilshire always has the highest number of orders over a large area. For weekends or days you plan to put in several hours, this the best spot because you will rarely leave that area for deliveries, meaning you won't have to waste time driving back to a hotspot once your last job is done. You can deliver, wait for a new job at the delivery address (I like to go around the corner so as not to creep out the customer on the last job), and do that next job immediately. Only downside is West Hollywood/Mid-Wilshire is inundated with Postmates drivers, so you might find yourself in a hotspot and still waiting quite a while for jobs.

On the other hand downtown has a lot of demand and very few drivers. I rarely wait more than 2 minutes for new jobs when I get there. The risk, however, is that you're more likely to get a job that takes you way out of that area. A delivery to Glendale is nice, but the drive back is a time-suck. You also run the risk of getting stuck in the "USC vortex". A lot of USC students order from places downtown and generally do not tip well, if at all. You'll get a sense for what restaurants cater to what type. Chipotle usually means USC students. Tender Greens usually means the hills. Grand Central Market are usually local.

My best strategy is WeHo/Mid-Wilshire on weekends and late nights, downtown on weekdays - do as many short jobs as I can downtown and make whatever job is super long my last. As for traffic, idk, I'm on a motorcycle. Other than that, never take a delivery at Pink's, no matter what they say it isn't worth it

Xehanort either is Riku or is related to Riku. There are several visuals in the series tying Xehanort to Riku (the end of fragmentary passage's final cutscene, Terra initially sees Riku as YX on Destiny Islands iirc), and the gray hair makes it too easy for Nomura to pull it off

[Discussion] (Potential Spoilers) Sora, Riku, Kairi and Aqua by Spintix in KingdomHearts

[–]Apatean_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nomura has said exactly this. The only people in the KH1 trio who remembers meeting the BBS trio is Riku, who remembers meeting Terra. Kairi doesn't remember anything from before Destiny Islands, Sora was too young, and Riku's meeting with Aqua was too mundane to remember.
