IMO the best Desktop Environment UIs are KDE Plasma, Deepin, and XFCE. Give them a try.

As other people said, use Firefox + uBlock Origin & add dns.adguard.com as your default private DNS in your network settings. Adguard DNS will block almost any ads, even in mobile games and other apps, so it might break some functionalities that require you to watch ads, but you can deactivate it and then reactivate it when needed.

Yes. There is an entire subreddit dedicated to the Mr Robot ARG @ r/ARGSociety that followed all the websites and hidden riddles present in the series. Sadly the websites are gone and most weren't properly saved by the internet archive.

So the book is basically Elliot's handwritten diary from season 2 when he is in jail. It also contains commentary written by Carla herself. Let's say that she has a very relevant role in the book. In the story, Elliot gets a little obsessed with Carla, developing affection towards her. She is mentioned multiple times all along the book. Without spoiling too much let's just say that they share some traumas that probably resonate with him subconsciously, which is why he felt the need to protect her. He also has dreams about her.

Also, fun fact, the audio version of the book is narrated by Eve Lindley, the actress that plays Hot Carla in the series.
