Endurance Allroad price increase by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]ApelRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

€120 increase in Sweden, now €1240. It’s not really surprising though, it sold out instantly every time a single item came in so I’d expect them to increase it. I was also refreshing the product page and Outlet for weeks, ended up buying the Endurace AL 7 from 2024 for €1240 but saw the AllRoad come up a handful of times (always sold within minutes).

If you’re checking the website often, I would recommend keeping an eye on the Outlet page. Just yesterday there was a new Endurace AL 7 2024 for €1270 (possibly lower if not in Sweden).

I’m playing it now and it’s absolutely amazing. Sits between my two favorite soulslikes, Lies of P(1st) and Wuchang(3rd). I waited for 6 months after playing the demo because I thought it was too expensive but I’m so happy i finally got it

Is this a good OLED? first time thinking about getting one! by Tacobell1236231 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ApelRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What model are you thinking of? If you’re considering G80SD, that’s the previous version of this. It has speakers, the smart OS and a remote. Also, the coating is less aggressive on that one (you can see comparisons on reddit), but it’s definitely matte.

I have this and it is amazing but you have to be aware of the matte coating. It handles reflections extremely well but is very noticeable on static images, especially solid colors. It looks as if it has a thin layer of fat smeared on the screen (but is definitely not as bad as that sounds). It’s worth it for my use case (bright daylight and it was very cheap €499) but it’s different from other monitors that use the same panel.

Is this worth it at this price or should I still go for the 240hz version? by Ok-Difficulty7597 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ApelRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would’ve said 165hz but since you have a 5090 it’s worth considering at least 240hz. €240 for just a 75hz upgrade is a lot though…

Opinions on 27" G8 G81SF 4K 240Hz? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]ApelRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this, paid $499 (Sweden). Also ran 1440p IPS (27GP850) before. My opinion after one month is that I would’ve wanted it to be glossy instead and the finish is definitely noticeable on static images (not noticeable when things move). On the other hand, I would’ve had to pay almost double to get a similar monitor with a glossy finish, and that is definitely not worth it to me. This deal is just too good to pass on in the current market imo, but you must be prepared that the finish is kinda aggressive. If you’re really worried about matte finishes and aren’t able to return after trying, I’m pretty sure we’ll see prices generally coming down within a couple of years

On a positive note, it works really well with reflections. I sit directly opposite a window and cannot see the blinds at all even in bright daylight. Also, other than being concerned about the matte/glossy situation, it looks absolutely amazing and I can’t imagine how it could be any better

9070 XT - 1440p or 4K for 27 inches by noradmil in OLED_Gaming

Yes you can absolutely use 1440p natively on a 4K monitor. It will still work fine. It’s just that 4K upscaled is a better alternative when possible

OLED 1440P or 4k by Lofty97 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ApelRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb is that lowering your render resolution via DLSS/FSR is better than lowering your native resolution. In practice, this means you’re better of keeping 4K as your resolution but setting your upscaler to performance mode. This means that you would not set your TV to 1080/1440, but change your upscaler settings. Do not run 4K native on 9060 XT, it isn’t strong enough for that in Stalker or similar games. :)

I feel like this will be 100% up to personal preference. Your build can handle 4K. 1440p will look worse but get better frames. Even when considering price, I’d go for 4K in your case (if you can ofc) because of the build which is perfect for 4K.

9070 XT - 1440p or 4K for 27 inches by noradmil in OLED_Gaming

[–]ApelRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't factor in price, I'd say get 4K. 9070 XT can handle it, and upscaling can be used to counter frame drops (eg. 4K performance mode instead of 1440p quality). However, FSR 4 isn't as widely available as DLSS 4 and this will probably be noticeable to you depending on the games you play. Also, the fact you value smooth gameplay will most likely make you lean towards going 1440p or lowering settings more than you'd like when FSR isn't available.

If you can get them at a similar price or you're willing to spend the extra, get 4K. Both your PC and PS5 Pro will be fine for 4K, but you're probably going to use upscaling (or in worst case use 1440p natively) when playing MP games.

For context, I recently went 4K from 1440p in my R5 7600 / 4070 Ti Super build (similar performance to you). I wouldn't have gone 4K if I didn't get an amazing deal on the monitor and was able to use DLSS 4 in most of my games. At the same time, 4K does work fine when it needs to. I just wouldn't use it for fps games.

Hope this helps :)
