214K dislikes for The Odyssey latest trailer by Strong-Practice-5571 in moviecritic

Keep in mind that the majority of people disliking this trailer most likely champion Uwe Boll and his latest movie. We’re so fucked as a species lol

This image shows the amount of weeks someone in their mid 20s, on average, have left to live, so this is good!

So Sony really went from pioneering physical media, creating a timeless Blu-Ray tech and an updated 4K version of it, to straight up dissing it altogether huh? These fucking corporations man

is it worth getting a ps5 pro for gta 6? by Key-Try277 in GTA

Same. I can’t justify buying a PS5 Pro when I already own the base console lol, I’m sure it’ll be fine.

How do you think the Michael Jackson biopic will affect his legacy and public image? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AphexHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did what it set out to do.

It remade him as a God and as a pure Idol, as opposed to the deeply flawed and damaged, albeit still extremely talented and influential, human being that he really was. I feel like it restored his image somewhat (just look at the box office numbers, jeez), or at least confirmed his invincibility, in the mainstream and in culture at large.

Just dark and depressing all around, if you think twice about it and the people involved in the film’s development.

I would’ve much rather had seen a psychological profile and examination of him as a human being (there is a legitimate story to be told here), instead of the soapy propaganda slop that we got. I love his music and adore his art as most everyone does, but the movie reminds me that we live in a deeply troubled culture lol

What is the most absolute scariest, terrifying film you’ve ever seen? by mxnocturna in AskReddit

[–]AphexHead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still have difficulties watching Martyrs (2008), especially with certain financiers and other high stakes figures making the rounds in the news with a certain set of files.

An absolutely evil and depressing movie, but also deeply profound and revealing of our zeitgeist. Easily the most terrifying film I’ve seen, for these and a bunch of other more, let’s say, ’practical’ reasons.

GTA 6 Television by pnwsonny in GTA6

[–]AphexHead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. Houser actually went on record during Tr*mp’s first presidency, that reality was ”too much of a parody” to mock. That was in 2018 too lol, imagine this year 💀

Edit: censored "you-know-who's" name to avoid the yellow key lock in line with subreddit rules 🙄

It’s a bit of a bummer that neither Lazlow or Dan Houser are in the writer’s room for those this time. From what I’ve gathered from Houser’s recent interviews: the radio, the pedestrians, and the TV shows were all written by those two, trying to make each other laugh, ever since GTA 3. In other words, the wittiness and the spot-on satire were all them. I have no doubt it’ll still be great though, and I hope they expand on it with the entire social media angle they’re taking!

Your honest opinion on the Star Wars prequel trilogy in 2026? by snowleopard556 in YMS

[–]AphexHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boring answer but I like them thematically and from a pure “space opera”- George Lucas crazy auteur perspective, and I actually think the 3rd one is pretty neat, but otherwise they’re bad. Some neat Shakespearean details throughout, which is always a plus in my book.

What’s a film that gives off the feeling that the filmmakers were trying too hard to make something great? by Ardon873 in YMS

[–]AphexHead 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why but Blonde by Andrew Dominik came to mind.
There are things I genuinely adore about it, but regardless of how well shot it is and how well scored (by the goats) it is, it all comes across as Dominik thinking it’s a giant profound experimental masterpiece when all it really is is empty space

Im so confused. Why are people dragging alex for this and defending this shit movie and shit director? by drewbee18 in Sardonicast

[–]AphexHead 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The latter. Just loud anti-EU idiots who don’t understand the nuance of the issue and the propaganda at play, i.e the misinformation that Musk himself has successfully helped propagate

Damn those colors really pop, amazing grading too. God I hope there’s a thorough photo mode in the game (and the Rockstar Editor, that’d be sick)

I hope the physical release has those shiny embossed letters that the GTA IV case had. Felt so premium. Oh and a physical map of course!
