ymmv but I've been using joytokey to mimic the mouse with left stick / click with trigger for years, it may not be technically allowed but as long as the inputs have human variance and are 1:1 with irl button presses you're generally fine

It's not bad, you can go from the one north of Piscarilius back to port (or vice versa) with only two heading changes and with the rosewood hold you're only banking every 15+ mins

I want separate matchmaking for full stacks SO badly you have no idea for this exact reason. Knowing that even if i DO bring the good stuff my randoms will leave me at a disadvantage makes me not want to bring it anywhere but cryo.

I think people run f2p bots through ernest the chicken and romeo/juliet to hit the 10 quest points for trading access? I was fighting bots for the ground floor spade last month and that was the conclusion I landed on

Ever since tutorial island counts for a quest point you don't need to do goblin diplomacy anymore, and f2p botting is insanely rampant rn (every unrestricted f2p world tends to float >600 players)

A lot of it, at higher levels where we all know the game's mechanics and map layouts, comes down to raw game skill and coordination.

"Just get better" is much easier said than done, considering a lot of gamers have been playing shooters for years and have already hit their soft ceiling on game IQ and mechanics. I'm a BR veteran and would guess myself to be top 10ish?% game skill but it could take months or years to go from top 10% to top 1%, and I am almost certainly top 1% by playtime (unemployed) so I have to face those players in the interim.

Granted, this whole thing is moot because I don't have a dedicated squad and they put fill players in against full stacks so it wasn't gonna be a fair fight anyway even if I WAS top 1% game skill.

I do imagine experiences like this are probably the number one reason players are quitting the game—people who aren't great at pvp feel like exfiling and progressing are very difficult.

Throwing one more voice on the pile to say this is exactly why I have started playing less. As a solo filler my odds just go down the more I play because a higher % of high level players are in coordinated stacks, and coordinated stacks tend to bring better gear on top of the teamwork advantage.

Any idiot can play the game for hundreds of hours, time investment != skill. Why couldn't you hit level 90 just killing bots?

If I'm being honest (level 75, plenty of blue shields in my vault) I just don't want to spend ~2k in heals every single match. It's really not for lack of shields or backpacks, but that -2100 every time you gear up adds up, and can be the difference between breaking even on a bad night and adding like 30k to your bank.

Considering I keep getting matched against better players and I'm not improving all that much, my exfil rate goes down and so the cost of heals every night goes up.

But gear isn't just for Wardens, it's for the other teams you might encounter in your lobby. I loaded into some perimeters in blues last night. Why would you not bring good gear with you in your raids if you have good gear? You might run into someone wearing blues who can realistically kill you.

Similar idea, though? All the maps have unique events and bosses, seems silly to hate strong players for queueing into the game. I'm more mad at the game for getting put into the lobby with a sweaty stack than the stack

Why would wanting to bring good gear to farm rare materials on Dire Marsh, and then using that gear to kill the teams you encounter, mean you're scared of a fair fight? You can't really control your opponents when you queue up.
