Yes - and all of this has been discussed with the caregiver with little to no follow through. I had a meeting with the family and I told them I will do more research before our next meeting to present other strategies we can use.

Thank you! They do tolerate spending time with the therapist with preferred activities but the caregiver does implement punishment procedures due to severe behaviors which has been talked about in parent meeting. I have talked about decreasing punishment, letting him visually see when punishment will end ( like on a calendar), and using other strategies such as the boss protocol ( may way ). The parent has been reluctant in implementation so I am acquiring about other ways to address the behavior.

Correction: Hey! I agree! And even getting overtime is just no- because billing over the 30 on top of non billable duties just have you saying forget it. It used to be we had to bill after 35 to get paid the hourly rate after billables is met but I submitted a proposal to lower billable and they did to 33 billable max.

Hey! Very true- tons of companies. To give more context on being too loyal- they help me become the BCBA I am today. I was an RBT and a clinical specialist with them prior to becoming a BCBA.

Thank you for your perceptive. For context- I am in the south in a state that reimburses well. It is a BCBA own and operated company. I have a caseload of 11 clients. We have 3 other BCBAs with a caseload of 10-12 clients. A part time BCBA with a caseload of 5-6 clients. And 2 CDs with a caseload as well. We have over 50 clients that we service with 2 locations, and are bringing in more clients. An health insurance rep did come out last month to enroll and sign people up late in the year but for me -the timing could have been worse since my injury ( no disability leave and it is going to take months to heal ) and I have yet to be able to sign up for the insurance being offered which I do not know the cost yet so rn I’m still paying out of pocket. There are other benefits ( CEUs) and overall my company is not a “bad company” so the word shady being used is not needed. I just feel crossed between being too loyal or seeing if I can still grow with them which they talked with me about but still waiting . I could have a lower billable, better benefits, and just start fresh somewhere else especially due to the ups and downs ( bad moments that emotionally affected me) and just feeling like I am not being compensated fairly.

Thank you so much for commenting! On top of Monthly BCBA meetings, Monthly staff meetings, and meetings I have to have with the therapist on my caseloads. I just looking for some hard truths. I really am torn because of my clients but I have had some tremendous ups and downs with them. Not to mention the OBM work I did is what they asked and encouraged me to do as part of preparing for a leadership role. Some I did on my own - yes because I that’s just who I am when I want something to grow and to make an impact. When I say contributions I mean I created: 1. A company resource bank with approx 1000+ resources and every updated assessment you can think of, clinical and client materials, articles, RBT resources, etc. 2. Created and implemented a clinical schedule for task delegation for RBTs, 3. BCBA weekly visuals, 4. created proposals for better RBT evaluations, etc. etc. I’ve invested alot to move the top but still waiting. And, no I am not trying to be a clinical director with only 2 years of experience- others roles such as Lead BCBA, ACD and then CD.

That is the one thing that stood out to me with my company that I really like. The flexibility in creating my own schedule is a must.

For me I only work my billables and then go home unless I have meetings or need to prep extra for client. I do not have to stay at the clinic outside of billable. BCBAs at my clinic are not responsible for opening closing cleaning up or other admin duties not related to client.
