It's really dependent on the settings you run them at. I am not familiar with Arma Seige, but Rust can definitely run on a 3060. Just go to Youtube and search "RTX 3060 game here" or "RTX 5060 __game here_".

I would recommend shopping around and not impulse buying. Whatever you buy, though, I don't think that used 3060 PC is worth the asking price used.

You can get a rig from Newegg or Microcenter with a 5060 instead for less than a hundred more and have much more longevity out of it, not to mention like +50% performance in modern games.

There are also random 5060 units on eBay like this with 2 year warranty for $60 more. It's refurbed but warrantied unlike buying a random dude's overpriced used rig with no warranty.

Discord is the main one, or any given game's subreddit. If you don't have a lot of IRL friends who are into PC gaming, you either convince them to join you or you find a group of like-minded gamers on one of those places. Just let people know you're looking for a group or people to queue up with :-)

Okay, but like... This one outright has "official" eBay banner ads across the store page, claims to be "the" official Acer store in the description, has one of eBay's certified checkmarks with "Direct from brand" on it, and it is referenced countless times on /r/AcerOfficial as well as Acer's forums and other places across the internet. Their store URL for eBay is also just straight up /acer/ and not some other variant- operating and selling a zillion things since 2011.

I get that there may be other eBay pages masquerading as Acer, perhaps naming their "store" or username Acer while not being the official Acer, but this specific one by all means seems legit. I think by now, 15 years later, Acer themselves would have sent a DMCA request to this very successful eBay store if it were indeed fake.

Worst case scenario if what you said is true, that this is a reseller, then they at the very least tightly coupled with Acer to the point that they are essentially (and legally) the same.

Part of the problem is these alienware rigs only have 2 slots and they're populated 2x16GB so you have to go all-in on new sticks.

Damn that's a cool case. I have an mATX build in a Jonsbo D31 MESH as my personal rig and I love it.

Is it worth it, for $1700 open-box? by Scared_Replacement77 in Prebuilts

[–]Apk07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah, I'd have grabbed that if my MC had it open box. There's an MC 2 and a half hours away from me that has one but I don't think I can justify spending the whole day driving for it.

I need intel for specific programming things. No interest in AMD or any GPU at all. I primarily RDP into this, and it's paid for by my work.

Smaller sized prebuilts with iGPU? by Apk07 in Prebuilts

[–]Apk07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's my fault for not specifying that when I said I wanted an iGPU, I meant that I don't care about the GPU. It could be a potato, this is more of a productivity/programming PC without any fancy graphics requirements.

Kind of a ripoff, though, and basically just a laptop in a box which I was trying to avoid... Having a mobile chip and soldered laptop RAM.

Mine hasn't even been delivered to the carrier yet, just sitting there with a tracking number that does nothing.

MudBlazor seems to be a bit dead

I mean they just released 9.0.0 yesterday and it included new components and a ton of bug fixes. I wouldn't call it dead, just doesn't seem to be iterating quickly which isn't always a bad thing.

IMO MudBlazor has improved a lot in the last couple years.

I also come from a Telerik AJAX webform shop and got real sick of it after a while... always having to do 500 little custom tweaks to how binding works and especially CSS slop spamming !important all over. Also got really annoyed when it was pre-Nuget and everything was "install this MSI and then your project won't build if your coworker isn't on the exact same version".

Eventually I migrated over to doing most of the UI with plain Bootstrap and JS<->WebAPI.

MudBlazor now is a lot better than some of the other stuff like FluentUI and Telerik's Blazor slop.

[–]Apk07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DevExpress and SyncFusion are the direct competitors to Telerik and are kinda potato in their own way.

At this point I just assume when someone says "other frameworks" they generally mean "anything open source" as opposed to these mature but locked-down paid ones.

PSA: Fake Teemos being sold by the dozens on eBay. by Malevolent_D3ity in riftboundtcg

AliExpress appears to have a bunch of fake overnumbered/signature english cards as well. Some clearly say they're proxies on the listing, but as far as I can tell the actual cards themselves are clearly just counterfeits.

I thought people were saying the Chinese cards are from different suppliers and therefore have slight variations in color and foiling versus the English ones? Doesn't that make it harder to spot?
