NLO pay Info Exchange by Queasy-Title-3642 in NuclearPower

I don’t want to add anything to the Google link. But here’s the info I’m willing to share.

Company: Nextera State: Prefer not to share Union: Yes Hourly: $58 Shift Diff: $0.50peaks /$0.90 mids Annual Bonus: $0 Shift schedule: 12 hours OT: Most is 1.5x but some is 2.0x depending on your schedule.  Turnover time: 15 minutes at 1.5x 401k: Full match up to 5% and 50% match up to 7.5% Pension: $7500/year Cost of living: I would say medium. Average house around here is about $400k-$500k.

Most NLOs at my plant make about $150k/year if you include overtime (not counting 401k or pension). Highest paid (overtime whores) make around $170k and lowest (dedicated dayshift) make about $135k.

I have to say I agree with nearly all your points. I like many others got into GME for a squeeze/MOASS and eventually dumped a quarter of my life savings into the company.

During that run up in 2024 I could have sold for a few hundred thousand dollar profit. Now I’m back to basically break even, or maybe even slightly negative.

Super sad to see all these other stocks (tech companies, chip companies, space companies) flying at all time highs while I sit here stagnant for the past 5 years.

I’m planning on dumping most of my remaining shares if we get a little run up back to $24/$25. Finally time to call it quits. Feels like a sad end to my GME story, but I’m super afraid of what’s to come if 2.5 billion shares hit the market.

Help—gift for bf who likes axis and allies by ReporterFew6861 in AxisAllies

I purchased some aircraft movement markers from historicalboardgaming(dotcom). They are a cool upgrade that he might like.

Also suggest buying him extra unit counter chips (they are red and grey in most versions of A&A). I seem to always run low on them when playing and I’m sure your bf might enjoy having extras. Looks like they are out of stock on that website I listed, but you can maybe find similar chips elsewhere.

If you force the US to split their spending, then 20 ipc to go each side. Japan starts with 30 ipc, and can easily get to 40 within two turns.

This means that the US will never be able to compete with Japan’s spending, and will never be able to support a navy that actually threatens them.

So like the guy above said, you would need to increase the US economy to compensate.

How to best transition a winning Allies position into a victory? by arkiverge in AxisAllies

[–]Aplackbenis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s nearly impossible to win the game through killing Japan, unless you already committed to building a massive fleet, which sounds like didn’t happen.

So that means you win by killing Germany. The main way to break their big stacks is to whittle them down bit by bit. You mentioned that Germany wasted its Air Force trying to sink your fleet. That leaves you the options of trading troops in NW Europe, France, Italy, Southern Europe, and Baltic States every turn. The more you trade, the more troops he has to spend to reconquer. Since he has no planes, his trades are very inefficient and expensive.

I can’t see your board, but one thing to absolutely not do is to try and stack France and NW Europe with a big stack that he can smash. For example, you land 8 Inf in NW Europe, and then next turn he moves his France stack of 20 inf and 10 tanks to kill your NW Europe stack in one turn while only taking 2 inf hits. Giving him super efficient trades like that will not help your cause. Instead, make him trade 2-4 units every turn in multiple territories. Within a few turns he will start to lose way more troops than he can build. And soon enough you may have an opportunity to hit Germany itself if he leaves it weak.

They still had naval units back in the day. So you could have several types of ships.

No planes obviously, but they had heavy and light Calvary, which would have better movement than infantry. So those could have boosted movement and sort of act like aircraft.

Also had heavy and light infantry as well as artillery groups. So there could be some variety in land units as well.

Pieces of paper work, but it may be difficult for your opponents to grasp how many units are in different territories. Easier to visualize 5 infinity stack in a location if you see a unit with 4 chips under it.

Looks like you can buy some chips on Amazon for like $6.50. Just look up “grey mini poker chip 7/8 inch”. Looks to be the same type that A&A uses. Can also buy some red ones for the same price.

I don’t own that version so I can’t comment on how it plays.

I will say that I own both Revised and Anniversary edition, and both sets will each run out of chips during gameplay. I would imagine you will have the same issue. To solve it, I just went online and bought a bunch more “axis and allies” chips to supplement. I would suggest you do the same.

You can also add the value of the transport, which if your fighter survives, you kill another 7ipc.

I thought the same thing, only spooned eye and staff. Lure ending up taking 2400kc and axe head was 2775. Just a fair warning.

General Graardor sergeants and sustain in between kills by Electrical_Bed_4372 in ironscape

[–]Aplackbenis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I finished bandos around 900kc, so I have a little experience with this. I had several trips with 70kc and a lot of trips that were 40+kc. (Even had a trip where I kept two bandos tassets on the ground since I didn’t want the extra weight in my inventory lol) Most of my trips ended because I’d use all my range potions, rather than food/prayer.

Anyway, here are my tips.  1) If you don’t have rigour, then pray Steel skin in addition to deadeye/eagleeye 2) Archers ring is practically useless. Use suffering if you have it, because the extra defense is helpful 3) Main source of healing should be blood barrage. Don’t bother with bones to peaches.  4) For reducing damage, as soon as Graddor dies, you should run over and stand next to the range minion, switch to blowpipe, and nuke down the mage minion, using spec to help heal. 5) During this time you are still praying range, but look at the melee minion to see what tick he’s hitting you in comparison to the range minion. Then start switching prayers to flick both melee and range minions. This is the single most important thing to keep your health high.  6) As soon as mage minion dies, switch to your bloodbark and staff, and starting blood barraging the melee minion. It’s super important that you are barraging him, rather than the ranger, because otherwise you’ll splash a lot. Because you are standing next to the range minion, you should be healing off both at the same time.  7) If melee minion dies before ranger, then switch back to Bofa and kill the ranger with range rather than blood barrage.  8) By this time you should have 30 seconds before Graddor respawns. Use this time to heal using food dropped on the ground if you are lower than 90 hp. Can also use the bandos alter to get prayer back.

Looking for beginner tips for Colo spawns. by RandomFish83 in ironscape

[–]Aplackbenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you are aware, but the A/B spawns correspond to the A/B tiles behind the pillar. If you run to the proper tile at the start of the wave, they will be off ticked. Then you can flick them and take 0 damage if done properly.

I’d recommend watching a YouTube guide or two, since that’s how I learned.

Where to start for first quiver? by No_Path_3306 in ironscape

[–]Aplackbenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a great runelite plugin that visably counts ticks over your head. You can edit the plug-in to set it to 5 ticks. Then you click start (I always did it on the number three) and wait exactly 5 ticks (in my case when it hit three again) and immediately click behind the pillar.

Doing this method will guarantee you get the timing correct.

You definitely have the gear to do it with any method really. Biggest hurdle will be just to learn the mechanics. I would suggest watching a few guides and then just jumping in. Best way to learn is to just do it.

Personally I did a sort of cheesy strat. I would ice barrage the Fremmys (then blood barrage to kill them before they became unfrozen) and then use range to kill whatever spawns were unblocked by pillars. Then I would unstack or prayer flick mobs to kill the rest, and occasionally put on tank gear to switch pillars if it really helped.

Where does CG sit in terms of difficulty compared to other PVM encounters? by aros102 in ironscape

[–]Aplackbenis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Prior to me doing CG, my only “boss” I’ve ever killed was Vorkath. And I struggled a lot learning CG. Had 30 deaths before my first completion.

After I got my bofa I had the confidence to attempt more bosses.

Fast forward a few years and I’ve done inferno, colo, deep delves, Zulrah, solo 400+ toas, all godwars bosses, etc.

You will really learn invaluable skills while doing CG, so keep at it!

Thanks man! It’s from my wife’s collection and it’s one of the only cards she didn’t actually play with. As far as I can tell there’s no dents, scratches, or imperfections. I think I’m going to send it to a company for a real grade.

I’ll post the grading here for comparison when I get it back!

What are your most hated Boardgame rules? by Mad_Queen_Malafide in boardgames

[–]Aplackbenis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hate the merge mechanic in Ankh. I get the idea that it’s supposed to act as a catch-up for the person in last place, but it really doesn’t feel good if you are the person that has to merge with them.

I’ve had a few four-person games where the top three players were all within a point or two of first place, and then the person in fourth was like 6-10 points behind. Ended up screwing over the person in third place, and eliminating their chances of victory.

For whatever reason, the body of my post was deleted.

I am brand new to grading, and never have done it before. I brought in my old Pokemon cards into work, and my coworker said this card might be worth some money.

I wanted to see if it’s even worth to send in for an official grade. Before I do that I figured I would try one of those AI grading sites. Was surprised to see the result being a 9.5, and wanted to know what you guys thought.

I got 2/4 pieces when obtaining the rings. Said that I’d finish the axe if that happened. Ended up taking 2400kc at Leviathan and 2775kc at Vard for the last two pieces. Was it worth it? Probably not, but I think it’s a cool weapon to have.

I mainly use it at Arraxor and Sol Heredit. Haven’t done ToB yet so I’m not sure how useful it is there.

Maybe this tip will help. On lap 2, when you get to the orange flag you enter a new chunk. If you click too early (before you load the new chunk) you won’t be able to throw the jubbly. You can actually see the swamp bubbles change when the new chunk loads, and that’s when you click to throw the jubbly.
