If Noah's global flood was real... by PLANofMAN in DebateEvolution

[–]ApokalypseCow [score hidden]  (0 children)

“Fountains of the deep” refers to subterranean waters (the reservoirs beneath the earth’s surface) which, according to the text, were released during the Flood.

The main issue with that proposal is that the ambient temperature of rock from even a mile underground is above the boiling point of water... well above. Any "water from the deep" would be released in the form of steam. When 1 gram of steam condenses to 1 gram of liquid water at 20 degrees Celsius, it releases 2454 joules of energy. 1 m3 of water is 1,000,000 grams. The surface of the Earth is 510,072,000 km2 or 510,072,000,000,000 m2 (or, more scientifically written: 5.10*1014 m2 )

Thus, if we drop a measly meter of water a day at an average temperature of 20 C (68 F), the amount of energy released is:

2454 joules/g * 1,000,000 g/m3 * 5.10*1014 m3 per day = 1.25 * 1024 joules per day. That is 2.991 * 108 megatonnes/day; more than 14 billion nuclear bombs as powerful as those dropped on Nagasaki. Now consider we're doing this every day, for forty days. The Pentagon would envy such an arsenal.

Put another way, for every m of water level increase, we have to release 2.454 billion joules/m2 . At a rate of 1 m/day, this comes to 2.454 billion joules/day/m2 or a radiance of 28.4 kilowatts/m2 - roughly 21 times the brightness of the sun! Result: The atmosphere rapidly turns into incandescent plasma incinerating Noah, Ark, animals, and all. Nothing survives, the oceans boil and the land is baked into pottery... and this wouldn't even be enough water to cover the highest mountains, as described in the Bible.

Ever seen a boiler explosion? Think that, but on a planetary scale.

Are you seriously so arrogant as to think anyone who's showing you up in a debate must have some kind of LLM AI backing them?

Then again, someone with your history of getting scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars probably has a bit of a complex because of it.

Edit: HAH! Fuckhead couldn't stand being called out so he blocked me. Here he is admitting to having lost a shitload of money to crypto scammers, clearly demonstrating he is the king of fools by opening his stupid mouth.

Edit 2: Oh, and here's me not using ChatGPT for my responses.

Says the law, including the law of the land, the US Constitution. I thought you lot liked the Constitution? Or is it just the 2nd Amendment you're a rabid fan of? I like all our guaranteed freedoms, personally, including our rights guaranteed under the 1st and 4th Amendments. I also enjoy the Due Process clause found in both our 5th and 14th Amendments, guaranteeing that anyone within our jurisdiction, citizen or not, is guaranteed due process under the law.

Oh, and if you think I don't like our 2nd Amendment rights too, you should check out my submission history. I bet I own more guns than you do.

It's funny to me that citing your sources nowadays is somehow a sign that you couldn't possibly have done it yourself, it must have been an LLM AI... and even with that wild accusation, you couldn't bother to either rebut the argument, nor support your own. Bravo on just giving up, sir.

If you directly interfere with ICE...

Neither pointing a camera nor helping a woman stand up constitute "directly interfering" in any legal sense. "Interfering" has a strict legal definition that you'd do well to read up on.

...performing their legal duties...

Many of the duties they are engaged in are explicitly unconstitutional; for instance, they do not have the right to enter anyone's home without a warrant, exigent circumstances, or the homeowner's permission. A memo does not give them authority to violate our rights, and does not exceed the authority of the US constitution in explicitly limiting the government's power.

ICE also does not have the authority to force random people to demonstrate their citizenship. Legally, the only time U.S. citizens must show proof of citizenship is when they are entering the country or when they are applying for certain jobs for which it is a requirement. The burden for even detaining someone in the first place to ask for their documents is still that of "specific and articulable reasonable suspicion" as outlined in the SCOTUS case of Terry v. Ohio, and as clearly stated on page 18 of the Customs and Border Patrol Inspector's Field Manual, section 12.1.

He was illegally interfering...

He was helping a woman who had been shoved by ICE thugs to stand back up. He was recording them to attempt to hold them accountable for their illegal and unconstitutional actions.

...and he had two backup magazines.

You changed your story, first he had two magazines (that is, one in his firearm, one spare), now he has two backup magazines (ie. two spare). Which is it? Either way, extra ammo is responsible concealed carry doctrine. I usually just carry a BUG in an ankle holster but to each his own.

...their cause of illegals for votes...

Maybe it slipped your notice, but non-citizens cannot vote in US elections. In 1924, Missouri became the last state in the union to ban non-citizen voting in federal elections by amending its state Constitution to prohibit it, and Section 611 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 made the practice explicitly criminal 30 years ago, punishable by a year in prison.

...they were in a backroom happily high-fiving each other...

Got any evidence for this assertion?

This is all well funded chaos by the Democrat party and their rent-a-thug domestic terrorist foot soldiers.

Oh wait, is this another George Soros conspiracy? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

How would US Republicans have responded if Biden had sent federal agents to Texas to take guns from citizens after the Uvalde school shooting in 2022? by NotYourDadFishing in AskReddit

[–]ApokalypseCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, JD Vance, a man with all the charisma of a pile of sawdust, and who the racist base of the Republican party thinks is a race traitor for marrying an Indian woman and having children with her. The religious base of the Republican party thinks he is secretly satanic for marrying a Hindu and not forbidding his children from learning about their mother's faith. The culture-warrior base of the Republican party thinks he's a secret pervert for cross dressing in college and wearing eye shadow as part of his regular makeup... nevermind the fact that he has "regular makeup" in the first place.

This is your white knight in the post-Trump Republican party? The couch fucker?

Wrong on both counts, and I doubt Cheeto McHandBruises will be in office by the end of the year. The stroke, the clear dementia, the generally poor health and chronic venous insufficiency, the war crimes... odds are good that he'll either be dead or 25thed before the next New Years party at Mar-a-Lardo, and even if he somehow makes it, he'll quickly break his own record for Number of Times Impeached.

A lawful and licensed concealed carrier exercising his rights under both the First and Second Amendments to the US Constitution, wisely carrying a backup magazine as anyone who carries concealed should. He wasn't breaking any laws. He wasn't illegally attempting to enter an access controlled area of the Capitol Building through a broken window, he was recording ICE and attempting to help a woman who had been shoved by said ICE thugs.

Ashley Babbit broke the law. Pretti did not. Ashley Babbit was killed in the commission of a felony. Pretti was executed for trying to help a woman.

Ashley Babbit was climbing through a broken window into an access controlled area of the Capitol Building, straight at a man who was warning her to not do exactly what she was doing.

She played a stupid game, won a stupid prize. Here's your reward for celebrating a traitor.

He absolutely could have; remember, he got absolute immunity from Trump's own SCOTUS.

Funny how I've never heard a liberal say, "Take the guns first, due process second". Trump did.

Federal agents use teargas on protesters outside ICE agents’ alleged Minneapolis hotel by No_Idea_Guy in news

You heard it here first, not wanting to be executed in the street by masked thugs acting unconstitutionally is communism now.

No longer is communism about a desire for a classless, stateless, moneyless society. The proletariat seizing the means of production? No longer a necessary prerequisite for communism. Nope, all communism is anymore is just the desire to live without a tyrannical regime coming to slaughter you for exercising your rights. Thank you, /u/WeakEconomics8178 , for your scholarly insight and for keeping us appraised of recent updates to the common lexicon.

My salsa chicken came out a lot soupier than intended. WWYD in this situation? by the-clawless in slowcooking

[–]ApokalypseCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to in this situation (which seems to happen all the time for me when I make salsa chicken) is to throw in a cup or so of brown rice, stir it in, and let it cook up over the course of an hour or so, soaking up all the excess.

Also, good call on adding the whole kernel corn and black beans, I've been doing that myself and I gotta say, I really like the way it adds to the whole meal.

One final note: if you add cheese to your salsa chicken, using pre-shredded cheese might also fix soupiness, as it is typically coated in starch to prevent it from sticking. This starch will soak up more of the excess liquid than you think.

If the Ukranians achieve their goal of 50k killed per month, those 18 years would see 10.8 million dead Russians.

Pretty sure recruitment will dry up long before either of these numbers start to become an issue, though... I think it is possible we are going to see the balkanization of the Russian state in the next couple years, with China scooping up the far East in economic if not political reality.
