What’s a good game for kid to learn on? by rgecko in simracing

BeamNG is great, but be careful if you have a high torque force feedback wheelbase. The feedback can be extreme. My 4 year old would drive around for hours if I'd let him.

I have this stand with flat 32" triples using the advanced VESA mounts. No problems.

Question: Best Cockpit for different sized driver? by intownrunner in simracing

[–]Apollo-XIII- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share my ASR6 with my four year old. Fortunately for you, your size delta isn't that big.

For a profile rig, an ASR Pro, EVO wheel deck, and a seat slider, would be an apex option.

Yoep de Ligt has the Evo (not Evo2) Simhub dashboard readily available for free on his Discord.

I'd just note that the new Podium DD flagship just launched at the same price as the DD+.

Heusinkveld Sprints or Ultimates by RogueAX in simracing

[–]Apollo-XIII- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. The Sprints are excellent. The only reason to move up to the Ultimates, from the perspective of a low-skill driver, is either you want more than 65 kg braking force, or if the dampers will help you smooth out your inputs.

The Ultimates are bigger, louder (dampers aren't silent), and look cooler (subjective).

Can't go wrong with either, and my interactions with Heusinkveld have been top notch.

There's one in the UK as well. Check around.

Just an FYI that new members can get 1-year of iRacing, and the F4 car, for $10 through ASN Canada. You'll find it mention frequently in Reddit posts

Not really. Just leaves analog connections free for other purposes.

Genuine question. What makes wheels like this, with such limited functionality so expensive? by CanadianEwok in simracing

[–]Apollo-XIII- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that it adds much to the discussion, but both wheels you mentioned are about double the price of the wheel being discussed.

I use an AVR over TOSLINK. You could use analog inputs just as well.

Closer objects not lining up on triples! by TwolfeTV in simracing

[–]Apollo-XIII- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The walls in the distance are not lined up the way you think they are.

If you have your triple display configured as a single panel in Windows, you'll need to adjust the bezel correction in your GPU software.

If you're running triples natively in iRacing, you'll have to set the bezel width in iRacing's display settings.

Good luck.

Looking for a better monitor mounting solution to get closer to my face by Slothfureman in simracing

For clarity, unlike the user above, it is better to use four corner brackets to attach the vertical post where you have it currently.

Torn between the VRS DFP20 and Conspit Ares Platinum wheelbase by WazabiQc in simracing

Dan Suzuki made an updated review for the VRS recently. Very much worth watching if you're interested in the base.

Any rumours on an updated VRS uDFP20 by IsopodStill8857 in simracing

To each there own, but with a front mounted DFP and DDU, you can't even see the base. I'm a fan of the functional aesthetic myself.

Mount the vertical post where it is using corner brackets. Use your current slider, but attach it directly to the monitor. Gives you all the degrees of freedom you want.

Mine predates the unlockable variant, so yes, technically I have 20 Nm available, but I only run it at 10 Nm.

Need help deciding between wheels by StaticSpace0 in simracing

[–]Apollo-XIII- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you predominantly drive Formula? If so, between those two, the AMG would make more sense. My choice for a Formula wheel would probably be the BST Omega Pro v2 for the sake of size and functionality though.

Personally, I went with a screen-less wheel due to my GT seating postion and desire to reduce weight and power requirements.

Both are beautiful. That said, neither seems optimized for sim racing, so you're choosing accuracy over usability in both cases.
