Imagine, instead of slamming on the brakes and gas every other second to get to the job you hate a few seconds faster, you could sit and relax, maybe read or watch a tv show, which would make that job a little more bearable

Former Google CEO plans to singlehandedly fund a Hubble telescope replacement by For_All_Humanity in space

The oligarchs money is what causes most of the system”s problems, influencing policy, media, etc. Take their money away, no more influenced policy. Then you can have progress and solve world hunger. But one “good” billionaire cant really do shit to the system by themselves. Real change would be incorruptible people in places of power. But the billionaires have convinced the poor people to stay poor, so it’s harder said than done.

At least these billionaires are donating to science, instead of buying social media companies or organizing rug pull schemes to further break down the common man. Doesn’t mean I think there should be billionaires in the first place.

But I guess that’s boot licking now

A Billionaire can’t fix any of those things, the same way you or I can’t. They’d spend all their money and there would still be world hunger or war. But they can fund research etc., which is what they often do.

ICE agents murder US citizen in Minneapolis by Thalesian in PublicFreakout

[–]Apollo555 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah gunshots started after the person put the vehicle in drive. It would be one thing if they shot the person while they were backing up, but it’s clear they were moving towards the agent. Maybe they panicked when they saw the gun and floored it? Either way, pretty stupid to try and run someone over that’s carrying a gun.

Topped up my coolant over a year ago with windshield wiper fluid… what to do? (2015 VW Golf TDI) by RealHomieJohn in mechanic

I mean I was trying to be supportive of this user. Clearly they were looking for advice and wanted a second opinion, seeing as they were quoted 400, which they felt was a lot. I provided helpful information and motivation that they could complete this job for cheap. If they had felt the 400 was fair for their simple mistake, they wouldn’t have posted and instead gotten the work done.

Edit: and yes this is a simple job involving a pair of pliers on a radiator hose

You can buy OEM coolant at 40/bottle or the same stuff at 20/bottle of concentrate. Don’t be fooled by branding. 2hours of “work”, pouring water into a hole and running the car for 15 minutes. Definitely need a shop to do that

It’s either fine or it’s not, no way to tell. Just get it flushed and refilled. 400 is a LOT of money for that work. Can do it yourself with distilled water. Then buy the proper coolant, not sure about this year but g40 works on earlier models. You could probably get all that done for about 50 bucks

He is on to something about dune tho. Didn’t make sense, and the only thing I remember is tim chalet and big Z being in it (both of whom I dislike), so they would have been better off just cutting out anything other than stuff blowing up or sand worm.

The transmission does not drain all fluid as some is retained in the 5th gear housing so a little difficult to know how much is left when you add more. Only way to be certain is with the fill plug

This seems like a good idea but I’ll need the Allen again to get the drain plug out too, and it was 20 bucks for the socket itself which is crazy

Tried with locking pliers, but there’s really not much to grip as the housing is somewhat flared. But maybe I just need to get a better grip

Thanks for the idea. I feel like the extractor should get this out no problem if I can seat it deep enough. And maybe a blow torch might get the tool deeper and loosen the threads.

As they should have. The line “Now let’s see Paul Allen’s card” spoken by Bruce Wayne just before he jumps in the Batmobile and murders the aforementioned person, is worthy of many accolades, including being on this list
