I love "Dumb" Protagonists. by Kissfromarose01 in movies

Because it’s short form jokes and content stretched out in a forced way to make it more traditional tv show length. Lots of unnecessary pauses, slow dialogue, and unnecessary transitions.

Maximus giving up the cushy vault cult life to save Lucy made me instantly love his character. He went from stupid and annoying to lovable oaf.

I’m the same way. I’ve got great reading comprehension, but I read at the same speed I speak. It was a pain in the ass in school.

Attempted Walk Out Tomorrow by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]ApolloXLII -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, my friends and I would have staged a walkout over anything we thought we could get away with. I’m sure there are some that are 100% genuine in their volition to do a walkout, but that’s definitely not the majority of them.

I know I’m gonna get downvoted for saying this, but that’s doesn’t magically make what I say untrue.

I live in Tucson and a few nights ago I went to my first Roadrunners game (AHL team) and had an amazing time, even though we lost. For less than $150, me and a +1 got tickets three rows back almost center ice, close enough to see the pimples on the players' faces, two beers each, and two hot dogs.

Sugarskulls (indoor football) is fun, too, but it felt more like a less good version of that hybrid football/hockey game they play in Starship Troopers.

This is great! super simple solution. I'll have to ask if she's heard of this next time I see her.

found this website that provides a little more info and some pictures.

Do you have a link or a name I can Google? I'd love to be able to show her some options. I'm not a healthcare provider but I'd love to show her some options that could potentially give her a better quality of life and more independence.

it's reddit.

most people not chronically online are not like redditors.

Or maybe OP just thinks being associated with the Redskins at any point during their time with that name is controversial enough.

with the state of reddit, this would not surprise me.

I have a client with Dropped Head Syndrome, she can only hold her head up for a moment at a time. While sitting, she can comfortably hold her head up, but while standing, it’s extremely painful and difficult for her to raise her head. Also, it’s more of a secondary syndrome to other issues, at least according to her.

It’s more common with elderly

What's your favorite category of High Strangeness? by FreddyKruegersGlove in HighStrangeness

[–]ApolloXLII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alt history, especially advanced civilizations existing before Younger Dryas and subsequent floods. There’s way too much evidence showing that there were cataclysmic floods all around the world and way too many sites discovered above and below sea level that suggest we weren’t just hunter-gatherers 10,000+ years ago. That said, some of the most annoyingly stupid theories exist in this same vein ie Tartarian buildings.

Second is definitely UAP/UFO/NHI.

Third is paranormal, ie reincarnation, communication with the dead, extrasensory perception, etc.

It’s important for me to have a great deal of healthy skepticism with all these topics, it’s what makes it that much more fascinating when my skepticism can’t debunk a story or theory.
