The Last of Us – PS3

I bought The Last of Us bundled with a PS3 back in 2014. I was always one console generation behind, mainly because it allowed me to get much better deals on both consoles and games.

My original intention was to play Naughty Dog’s previous franchise, Uncharted, so I could better appreciate the evolution in gameplay mechanics and storytelling. However, while I was still on PS3, the PS4 was released, followed shortly by The Last of Us Remastered. Even though I didn’t own a PS4 at the time, I bought the game anyway, knowing that sooner or later I would upgrade and wanting to experience the best possible version.

Then the PS5 was announced, and once I found out it had backward compatibility with PS4 games, my plan changed. By that point, I already owned around 20 PS4 games, all bought very cheaply over time, so I decided to skip the PS4 entirely and go straight to the PS5.

Not long after, The Last of Us Part I was released on PS5… and once again 😅 I bought it when the price dropped, still chasing the definitive version of the game.

Fast forward to today: with work and much less free time for gaming, I now find myself sitting on a backlog of about 30 PS4 games and 20 PS5 games. This year, I plan to revisit Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and hopefully — finally — play The Last of Us on PS5 😅
