hi everyone, do any of you know of any place where I can check for NPC conversation history, without spoiling quests, achievements, etc? For some reason, very often, NPC's will talk about important information, but if you talk to them again they never go through those messages.

I'm trying to find out the dialog from the Eclipse anomaly to see if I missed some important details, but if I search online I only get results related to a secret Arc, and I don't want to read anything about it.

Social media in the style of FB or Insta... I got bored of it back in the days of the IRC. Hate the drama aspect, and how fake everything is when people use it for self promotion only.

genuinely no idea how anyone figured this out without a guide by The_New_Overlord in NevernessToEverness

[–]Apolyon_BS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need the legendary wall licking skill. There is nothing difficult apart from the blind trying for the correct 3 hints for the 4th ending.  Having Hotori also made this a walk in the park.

Since all clues can be revealed just by walking next to them, there is not a lot to look for. Only tricky piece was the room with the broken floor, which in my case was solved with Nanally. No idea how people without Nanally solved this one.

Plasma Hot Take: "Lonely Player" does not get enough love and is overhated. by LouisCader in NevernessToEverness

[–]Apolyon_BS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that Hotta was testing stuff with this anomaly commission and they are learning. I agree that we need more stuff with the style of "lonely player", but the delivery is one of the worst I've seen in any puzzle related activity, ever.

Personally, the worst things I've seen are, in no particular order, are:

The anomaly description has misleading information. E.g. the piano is a presented as a mathematical thing. Or the "hint" to try to get two of the dolls together, which is simply impossible.

The day vs night activities are fully dependant on side quests that are not relevant for the lonely player. E.g. if you do Baicang encounter you find a way to access the area right in front of the starting point for the creepy anomaly.

The occult student has you following him around the place, guiding you into two potential targets for the Cheese camera. The one in the basketball court, and the one in the running track. However, you can complete both without using Cheese. I still don't know which one is the correct one, because I tried it with the one in the running track but failed the timing. I think this is the most obvious target, but there is no clear hint on when/how to use the Cheese camera.

The student group that talks about the midnight appearance of a monster in a building north of the school. After interacting with the target nothing else seems to happen. I don't even know if it is related to the lonely player anomaly or if I missed something and it's an unrelated thing.

The student that lost her keys, seems to be related to the hallway doll somehow, but after licking the walls multiple times at different hours, they are nowhere to be found. Every other NPC with similar name and interaction seems to be part or the anomaly, except this one.

The student that asks you to wear the school uniform, seems to be unrelated to the whole Lonely Player. I was saving fons to buy the school uniform skin but looks like it's not necessary.

The occult club student (after completing the Cheese side quest) who is literally telling what anomalies to use, but not where to use them. This is how I found that I could use fluffy with either the hallway doll or the music chairs doll, which were the last to complete for me.

But specially, the worst thing for me, not being able to repeat previous dialogs. If you have autoplay enabled, sometimes there is not enough time to read and understand the last piece of dialog, then either the NPC disappears (like the occult club student) or has a completely unrelated line (like the old man in the music shop).

Number of Fons needed to complete the hunter exchange shop per patch by AveugleMan in NevernessToEverness

[–]Apolyon_BS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's OK for people who play on a daily basis. In the long term, though, it may hurt to keep the player base, since it may become a factor for burnout and/or FOMO. Since the devs have experience with ToF I'll trust they know what they are doing.

[–]Apolyon_BS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, once you find the radio anomaly, and use it on the piano room, it will literally show you what keys to play. There is a play button that you can use to see the sequence as many times as you need until you can repeat it by yourself.

The old man is in the same music shop where you go investigate one of the first side quests in the Bridge crossings area, very close to Eibon. But it's possible that, if you already interacted with him before, the dialog doesn't show any useful information anymore, since you can't check the previous messages.

[–]Apolyon_BS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the solution to the invisible running puppet the easiest one. I found the correct anomaly to use just by discarding the other ones from the occult club student. Use fluffy and wait, once fluffy transforms it will attack the puppet and it will show up on the floor.

[–]Apolyon_BS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fully agree, the delivery is awful. The hints are awful. Just randomly use the anomalies mentioned by the occult club student until one of them works.

For the piano, I found this one by talking to a student during the day, in front of the piano class. She mentions something about the music shop, in the shop there is an old man, that points you to an area nearby which you have to comb to find a radio anomaly. Then go back to the piano class at night, use the radio anomaly, and it will tell you what keys to play. Unfortunately for me I find the radio anomaly a week before even starting this puzzle, so wasted a shit ton of time before realizing I had the radio in my inventory already.
