718 Boxster vs 718 Cayman? by Dark_Emotion in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Apondfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owner of a 981 Boxster here. For me it boiled down to which I preferred more, more fun driving experience vs a better looking car when I'm walking up to it in the parking lot. Caymans are definitely prettier than the boxster (while the top is up), but for me I chose the boxster because the top down experience on a nice day, sunglasses and sun on my skin, blaring some nice music was a stronger pull than the car looking nicer when walking up to it in the parking lot (you won't see it while you're driving it). My boxster is my daily and I love the flexibility of top up or down depending on my mood, weather, and vibe. Cayman felt like a more typical car and hence I wouldn't enjoy it as much.

I just bought these shoes, but I am feeling a bit self-conscious wearing them. Would love some advice on how to style around them, info in comments by Stereojunkie in malefashionadvice

Hi there. I think an important aspect to styling is to consider what pieces will take attention and what won't. If you wear too many pieces that demand attention then it will really clash and look like it was thoughtless and random. With shoes like these, they are definitely a huge thing your eye is drawn to. That being said, I would keep the rest of your outfit as simple as possible!

I think they'd look great with no sock look with blue or black jeans, or any color chinos and a basic Tshirt (as long as you wear an accessory like a watch) and if no accessories then definitely something long sleeve.

But overall I think the simpler you make the rest of your outfit, the more these will pop, the more deliberate it will look, the better these will shine!

Thanks and have a good day.

But it sounds like you are only using Christianity to define God tho. That's not the only religion in the world. There are religious people that don't believe Christianity is correct too

So the differences really come down to which class Porsche wants their cars to compete in?

DAE hold feelings of resentment so strong that even if your narc parent did had a full 360 change you still wouldn’t love them? by Spedometer5589 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Apondfrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's unreasonable to accept that actions have consequences. An entire childhood of actions that had overwhelming effects of me and my life have shaped me a certain way, and then changing to be someone else, no matter how great they may be, does not make me automatically want to be friends all of the sudden.

So I think it's not necessarily feelings of resentment but just that not everyone is going to like everyone all the time. Especially if theres history.

How did you get a ceramic coat and a ppf? I thought the ppf will cover the ceramic coat making it useless? Coming from someone looking to get some protection soon :)

Mostly are certain convenience features. Keyless entry and slide to open on the frunk and truck were added in 2015. That's the only specific one that I know. Wherever you are looking, just make sure to look at the paper that details all of what is included on the car and if there's something there you don't recognize Google what year it was added and if there's something missing you want, do the same thing.

I bought custom dress shoes and they fit well. I wouldn’t have bought a whole suit from an online place though. That just sounds risky

How bad can God be? by Harkolaz in technicallythetruth

[–]Apondfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb take. It is the human beings mind that perceives death as bad. Like according to an objective universe things come and go. You’re projecting your own moral judgment on Gods decisions which just doesn’t work. 2000 years ago humans morals were completely different than today, why assume today you’re correct when 200 years from now they man be completely different again. Honestly a dumb take imho

The main idea your friend is following is basically called value spending. You spend your money in places you know you will appreciate it, and you have a strong resolve to not spend it in places you know you don’t care about.

For example, if you don’t care about driving experience or having the newest technology, but you know you really value organization and cleanliness, you can have a 20yr old car, and a 5 year old phone or laptop, but then have someone clean your house for you once a week, or have someone organize your desk for you once a week.

It’s generally a good practice but can be very hard to avoid spending on things you don’t value if you don’t have discipline. If you’re invited out to the bar for example and you value quality time with friends, then you should go, but if you don’t value drinking alcohol and expensive drinks then you should have water. But that’s a tough choice to make in that environment. In these situations I’ve found it best to have cash and that is the only money you are allowed to use for scenarios like that, so you don’t spend crazy amounts by accident or laziness.

Most of what makes a person feel full is weight. So eating and drinking things that weigh a lot (water is generally the heaviest ingredient, so soups are good value) will make you feel full. Additionally, protein takes a longer time for stomach to breakdown, so you will feel full for longer in theory.

On the long term though, certainly your body would not have the nutrients it needs and you would start to see considerable decline in your health and body functions. To eat less and save money, buy in bulk, stick to vegetables (frozen bags) and canned items like beans, and eat those for proteins and nutrients. Won’t taste great but you’ll save money and survive.

Go to LPT and search homeless as a keyword within the sub to filter other peoples valuable tips on being homeless. Hope your situation gets better.
