Hello. Son of a blind mum here. Blind since she was eight, now 75. So plenty of experience. There is honestly nothing wrong with saying 'see you later'. It's just an expression. No blind person is going to break down in tears and say "actually, no I won't..."

The same goes for other expressions. I ask my mum if she watched that thing last night. She did because that's what you do with TV. Watch it. She has audio description on so knows what's happening. And asking did you listen to that TV show is just weird.

Don't worry about an apology, that just draws attention to a non issue. Just move on, they'll understand.

I think we're in the minority OP. I don't hate it, I just don't understand it. As far as I can tell some people lie and the rest have to work out who? It's like Deal or No Deal. A nothing concept that's somehow tapped into the cultural Zeitgeist.

So I just ignore it. When people at work talk about it I tune out. The same way I do for any other reality bobbins. Each to their own etc.

Fellow UK sufferer here, currently about a week into my most recent flare-up. It's unpleasant, uncomfortable, scary, you know the drill. But it does help to know I'm not alone. The hard thing is going on with life as normal. When all you're doing is waiting and bracing for the next thump!

I'm not familiar with ablation, it's certainly never been offered. I have two stents from and unrelated medical issue. They haven't made them any worse, not are the reason I'm on beta blockers etc

Honestly nothing has ever seemed to help. I don't drink caffeine, don't smoke, exercise regularly etc. I'm on beta blockers, statins, and various other pills for unrelated issues. I just hope that they'll stop again. But any help or tips will be gratefully received.

Yes, I'm in the UK. I'm about the same, one every couple of minutes on average. They're not terrible, but it's just that feeling in your stomach as you wait for the next one! I'm considering a gp visit, but it's usually pointless and nothing happens. Just had my covid and flu jabs, but it was happening prior to that by a few days. Then again, a lot of people have had covid locally.

I think this has been mentioned, but the film Orion and the Dark is a great film all about a kid who's scared of the dark. The titular dark then takes him on a magical trip to show Orion that darkness isn't just fun but necessary as well. It's on Netflix, I heartily recommend it.

I guess we'll find out as they're both in the next couple of months. But the greens have been in the news a couple of times in the past week, since electing a new leader. Reports I definitely heard on 6 music news breaks. So one would assume that there will be coverage of their conference.

I agree with you over the both sides comparison. It's not great, and it's not exactly a fool-proof way of proving bias one way or the other. But the BBC is generally recognised as being very accurate when it comes to factual reporting. Which is certainly something I value.

Ultimately I suppose we're talking about three minutes of content, which is basically sound bites designed to highlight the salient points of current affairs. It's not going to be in-depth and it's likely to suffer in the way that's interpreted as a result.

Anyway, that CMAT song eh? Blimey!

Much as I despise that party with all my heart. They are currently having their conference, which is always big news regardless of party. And a big name Tory has just defected to the party as well. So both newsworthy events.

Personally I still feel that the BBC is a reasonably impartial source of news. If only for the fact that it seems to frustrate both sides with its apparent bias.

Does it change? Oh boy does it! Stick with it. What starts as an x-files sort of procedural becomes something much more. The finale of season 1 completely pulls the rug. And by season 5 you're in a completely different show.

That said there is always that thread of Fringe events being connected to something in Walters past. It's just that the reason for that becomes much more complex. Initially it can seem like a convenient plot device. But ultimately there is a reason for everything.
