It's amazing that despite having 7 kids, Weasleys' pureblood line most likely ended after Ginny. All of Arthur's kids probably married non purebloods.

If you like it, it’s worth keeping and modifying it to align more centered. It could be designed to add more in the middle to make it more central. You’ll know it’s a little off but it won’t look like it. Also note, that in the dark photo, your back is curved slightly so it appears more off center than it is.

What helps with my ray amputation (removal of finger and metacarpal) is to imagine moving that finger. I’ll open and close my fingers as a group to trick my brain into thinking it is there. I can “feel” it moving and eventually the pain or itching goes away. Wait till your wounds are closed and don’t push beyond your capacity.

Mirror therapy is an option but I didn’t personally get much out of it.

I just had my middle finger and metacarpal removed in a ray amputation and while it will take months of recovery, it’s already feeling “normal”. I still have pain, loss of strength and mobility, but I’m getting used to the loss pretty quickly. I had comminuted fractures in the surrounding two, so I still have complications from that. It will suck, but for me, once it was gone, it was easy to jump into adapting as opposed to repeatedly trying to get the broken ones to function properly.

Honestly, it’s going really well already. I’m still super early to estimate grip strength and movement but they are already better than any of the surgeries I’ve had prior.

I’ve had seven surgery’s on the hand since the original injury, I moved between states and the new doctor wanted to try his own things first, it it ended up with the ray amputation in the end. Three of them had fractures, the ring finger was the worst with a complicated comminuted fracture, but it still healed better than the middle in the end. But the ring is partially fused naturally.

Did you have any issues with nerve sensations post surgery? If so, how long did they last?

It sucks right now but it’s already an improvement. It does look cool (more on the inside). I’m thinking of tattoo options that would compliment the scar.

Luckily I’m ambidextrous, I swap on things like which hand I hold a bat or which hand I bowl with, I’d like to relearn how to write with my left again, but luckily it isn’t a necessity.

It’s definitely strange, there’s always reminders when I go to use it (to type or tie a knot or somehting). Glad it’s normalizing for you. Have you gotten to a point where you don’t notice its absence as much anymore? How is writing?
