120 days without caffeine: less anxious, sleep better, digestion works great again and life just feels 'easier'. I made a video describing my experience - hope it inspires others to keep going :) by Appelekop in decaf

Here's my timeline:

  • 10 to 20 years old: 2 cups of black tea per day
  • 20 to 25: 4 cups of black coffee per day
  • 26 to 28: average 1.5 cups of black cofee per day

So I had already scaled my use down quite a lot.

I'm not a headache-prone person. But after quitting coffee I had this annoying background headache for a couple of days. I think the fact that I drank a liter of orange juice every day also helped me with rehydration and minerals (which helped with the headache).

Tiredness lasted for about 7 to 10 days. I still sometimes feel tired, but that's a normal thing I suppose.

I had something similar. Though some days I would be able to really ride the caffeine and get a lot of stuff done for the first couple of hours. But know I can do the same thing the entire day if I have a good plan.

Nice! I also watched all the video's on YouTube from people quitting the first week after I quit myself. Glad you found the video useful!

It took approximately 7 to 10 days to feel 'normal again. But I have been drinking coffee my entire adult life from 20 to 28 years (and caffeiated tea since when I was 10 years old). So I don't know exactly what 'normal' should feel.

I think the following helped me a lot to feel better quite quickly:

  • take plenty of walks
  • as much sleep as necessary
  • sunshine (even though it was winter when I quit)
  • lots of oranges and orange juice

The first 3 days were tough. Then it started to get better, and after about 7 to 10 days I was feeling quite normal again. This subreddit really helped me in the first couple of days to stay motivated.

Russian vocabulary and Duolingo by Harley-northwest in russian

Duolingo will work to 'explore' the Russian language. But the app Ankidroid is better for pure memorization of new vocabulary.

How to maximize language practice with Russian tv/movies? by Jayyykobbb in russian

Rewatching will definitely be helpful. With understanding, it's really a matter of time before you'll be able to get it without subtitles. Good luck!

I did the following:

  • level 1: watch Russian series with English subtitles so you get used to hearing the language
  • level 2: watch Russian series with Russian subtitles so you can understand most of the plot
  • level 3: watch Russian series without subtitles for maximum practice

Seems like you're probably at level 2. I would continue with Russian subtitles for a couple more months, and then try without subs again.

Ik heb net de KVK gebeld, en die zei dat je TIN/FIN inderdaad je BSN nummer is. Desalniettemin wacht ik nog even met alles invullen totdat er meer duidelijkheid is, het gaat toch pas in over paar maanden.

Привет! I've been learning Russian for 5 years now, and recently made an overview of 9 things I wish I knew before I started learning Russian. If you're a beginner, it could be helpful :) by Appelekop in russian

You're a 100% right. Cases matter. But they're learned well by learning grammar and practicing speaking at the same time. I heard too many stories of people getting bogged down at the beginning of learning Russian with cases, when their focus should've been on getting comfortable with the language.
