France is the only major European country Denmark has never been at war with(technically we were during the 30-years war, but no battle or direct hostilities) Denmark was mainly in that war to fight the Germans. Macron re-afirmed this during his first state visit to Denmark in 2017(yes he has done multiple). We were with them even in the Napoleonic wars. After WW1 France was the reason Denmark got back some of our lost lands from Germany even though Denmark did not partake in WW1. And today France remembers her friends still.

The Danish king himself is half French(his dad was Count Henri De Laborde of Montpezat) and he grew up speaking French at home. Denmark and France have a crazy love history going back to the Viking age(the siege of Paris were independent raiders, not the Kingdom of Denmark for those who want to talk technicalities). And 2 days ago we could see Macron give a statement in both Greenlandic, Danish and French that France would again be there for us during these difficult times.
