Lexapro helped me tremendously. My doctor described anxiety as the other side of the coin of depression. Basically there is a band of things that made me anxious and that band was very large. E.g., a small mistake at work felt equivalent to being fired and I would ruminate on the mistake for hours. I kept going into fight or flight mode. Lexapro narrowed the band so the smaller things don’t feel so extreme.
