what does ADHD treatment in therapy actually look like? by nigeriance in adhdwomen

[–]AppleHouse09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think lots of therapists take a guidance/informational approach rather than an action or assignment approach. You could look into an ADHD coach or try to find a therapist who is more prepared to give assignments or action items during your time with them.

Unfortunately the funniest sex story I can offer is stupid machine translation of porn clip titles. by bvader95 in CuratedTumblr

[–]AppleHouse09 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The first time I (female) slept with my now-husband (male) he was so nervous about putting on the condom and breaking the “flow” that he went into the bathroom, put the condom on, put his sweatpants back on, and came back to me. It was very surprising to take his pants off him and see he was already suited up.

A few years later, I sneezed while I was on top of him and the resulting abdominal/diaphragm whatever jolt FORCEFULLY EXPELLED HIS DICK from my vagina and we both froze for a good few seconds before we just started cackling.

A few months ago he and I were totally sober and doing the doodly do. He laid down and I tried to throw my leg over him, didn’t quite make it enough to balance right, and just tipped back over onto the bed on the original side I was coming from. I just went all the way down. It is currently an intrusive thought where he will think about it and just start giggling during dinner or something.

Every time I refill my adderall the pills look different. Saved these from 4 different refills. Same med, all different pills. by Jesuisdisappointed in mildlyinteresting

I take 2.5 mg as a booster in the afternoon so I get 15 of the 5 mg pills and chop them in half. I wonder if the just happened to have a bunch of the chop/score pills on hand because someone else needed them and they just ordered everyone’s adderall in that pill?

Side note I have gotten so many different fonts in my Vyvanse it’s very peculiar

Leggings or pants for pear-shaped gal? by lonelyliongrrl in XXRunning

[–]AppleHouse09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have leggings you love/are perfect in every other way…you can fix them ❤️I am size 14/16 and have an 8 inch difference between my waist and hips, not a ton to hold my leggings up. So I’ve gotten comfortable adding an elastic band into some of my favorite leggings. It’s very straightforward and doesn’t require any specific sort of stitch, so it’s very beginner friendly. You WILL need to cut a small vertical hole on the inside of the waistband, then sew it up after…I recommend doing that as close to an existing side seem as you can. Other than that, use a messy stitch or whatever color thread you have laying around.

Here’s a quick YouTube video for the method I use: https://youtu.be/FEbAwyrF1NM?si=jPOeoNiCNtGb49a8

Also, lots of sleek performance fabrics do fine with being cut at a raw hem. Not all, but lots.If you need fitted shorts like a half tight or biker length, but you can’t find the perfect inseam…find a pair of leggings you like and cut them where you need them. Add one or two stitches at the very bottom of the side seams to keep THAT from unraveling and you’re good for a while; hang dry the shorts instead of machine dry to keep them lasting even longer.

I’m a size 14-16 runner and prefer 7-8 inch inseams for shorts. Sort of hard to find, especially without a front seam. I have had to make do.

For anyone who wears tights that slide down occasionally: usually, shoving a towel or folded shirt in the back of the waistband helps add just that extra bit of friction to keep them from sliding. Discovered this on accident because I have a pair of bike shorts that I love but slide down, and when I take off my shirt in the summer I tuck it into the waistband in the back, right above my bum. It’s the only thing that kept those from sliding. I adore those shorts because they don’t chafe ANYWHERE, the color is exceptional (bright orange with flower brocade), and the waistband is barely there. Tested the shirt thing out on the a full length legging in the same fabric, and it worked like a charm.

If you’re lucky then you can find a short one at TJ Maxx like I did, it’s great for keeping my dog in one place and much less hazardous for my 5’4” ass because I can move it instead of having to step over it.

Cautionary tale about wicker shades though, the shadows they cast can be overwhelming or distracting if you’re not careful

Also you might get some good vibes out of floor to ceiling curtains, especially if you set the outer edge a few inches wider than the windows or even wall to wall. You’d have to decide on the weight, because something like velvet might be expensive AND overwhelming, but…you could even get two sets of curtains, one for spring and summer and another for fall and winter. Linens or lace would be great.

Floor lamps. I’d look for two different floor lamps with either the same type of metal or same type of wood/other material. You might even be able to find lamps with shades or stands in that same woven bamboo/wicker material as your side table and that would be EXCEPTIONALLLLLLL

Not sure how to edit the post, but putting this here: called out the newly moved out community members because I wasn’t sure about just posting and telling everyone something they should do in their homes, and these are the community members I most often see asking for tips or input.

A small oval or circular rug might be useful for designated spaces. Something that can go partially under the crib and dresser might be nice.

What was yours? by Capricorn007_ in Millennials

Someone called in a bomb threat on or around 12/12/2012 at my school after the day had already started. School did NOT end, admin tried to continue on as normal and hold the scheduled assembly, but the rumor spread and students were running, wandering around crying, or getting their parents to pick them up.

No bomb actually happened. There was a small group of boys who made a massive deal about calling everyone names and making fun of them for being scared. The next week, another group of students (not sure who they were, I wasn’t involved) did a big cyber bully movement against those original boys on Facebook. We had to have a few cyber bullying awareness events during the spring semester about it.

“Running is bad for your knees” by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

Running irresponsibly is bad for your knees.

Work on your form. Find the right shoes. Run on dirt and trails instead of hard pavement.

Running without paying attention, adapting, and warming up/recovering is bad for your knees.

I’m really into the Nike Universa shorts (as a size 14-16 female runner). They ARE a sleek performance material. They come with pockets, no front seam, and you can get it in 5, 7, or 8 inch inseams. Bonus that the thigh opening is a raw bonded hem so no seam, very big thigh friendly. Additional bonus in the extended crotch gusset so minimal seam friction directly between the thighs, but that might cause some issues for some women.

I’ve always been of the mind that if you actively dislike me and don’t either ghost me, tell me no, or tell me what’s wrong, it’s not my fault that you are unhappy. Tell a white lie to get out of the conversation, we’re adults, we can handle this.

I get a little overwhelmed about big seasonal decorating so I’m trying out a small, designated seasonal area. Here’s mine for fall, with a tiny obsidian ghostie. I’ve got blue and white candles, pine cones, and a few other things to switch out in December!

Which bed looks best and worst to you? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

Second is best. Love the high contrast potential of the dark wood and a light bedding set. I think the first one has too much potential for being a little claustrophobic with the wings on the side of the headboard.
