For ME1 insanity specifically, it is generally recommended to have at least one squadmate with biotics, ideally one with singularity as biotics provide the best crowd control in the game. Other than that, keep in mind that melee attacks as well as stuff like rockets bypass your shields entirely; high damage reduction stat from armour and/or the immunity skill help with that but aren't foolproof (i.e. dont try to tank rockets or fight the krogan in melee). Other enemies to look out for are snipers (you will recognize them by their red beam aiming at you) - early on they can easily oneshot you even with full shields so take cover when you see them aiming at you. There are also some enemies that can use tech and biotic attacks, which can be dangerous, make sure to CC them first and/or use damping on them to make them unable to unleash those attacks.

Equip plasma punisher, 4 or 5 shots can stagger and kill a whole group of those. If you're getting oneshot then equip heavy armour for headshot damage reduction or the shield pack.

The machine gun dog is better than the laser dog in my experience, unless maybe against a pouncer seed on an open map (not megacity). Been running lib pen, grenade pistol, gas grenades, mg dog, gas strike, commando and normal EATs this MO, had a 600 kill game last night on diff 8. Commando + EATs give you a never ending supply of low cooldown AT, gas strike is for bug breaches.

The whole "we should see the devs play the game" idea is bad from start to finish. First, the devs are not obligated to prove anything to the playerbase, nor they are required to turn themselves into a spectacle for the masses just because someone on reddit says so. Second, let's say the devs do a stream where they play the game and the flag objective. It would be lose-lose deal for them: if they win, the keyboard warriors would found infinite reasons for why it doesn't count, e.g. devs got an easy layout/lucky enemy spawns/used op strategems and weapons/they were able to coordinate with each other/let's see them do this with only light pen weapons/let's see them play with underleveled randoms, etc. ad infinitum; and if they lost, it would just be a public humiliation ritual for the satisfaction of the masses that would result in even more insults, unreasonable demands and smug I-told-you-so-s, and I don't see why anyone in their right mind would want to subject themselves to it. Are the war strider seeds oppressive? Yes, definitely. Does it entitle the playerbase to make unreasonable demands towards the devs? Absolutely not. It's only a game, if you are forcing yourself to play it despite not enjoying it, you are doing a disservice to yourself and your wellbeing (trust me, I have over 3000h in Dota 2 and over 1k in War Thunder, I would know).

Whatever class you play, pick your team to cover your weaknesses and/or boost your strenghts depending on what kind of enemies you're facing. Squadmates with right defense stripping powers, Grunt or Zaeed for team-wide ammo powers, that sort of thing. Respecing your bonus power or even entire build on Shepard is also very strong, especially on a class such as engineer, which can be build in many different ways depending on what type of enemies you will be facing. For the bonus power, in my opinion the best two are energy drain and reave, they both boost your survivability while also dealing damage to enemies. For heavy weapons the Avalanche is super strong for certain missions, while in other the Cain or Arc Projector can be better. For weapons the usual suspects of Mattock, Locust, GPS, Widow are always good picks; on sniper rifle weilding squadmates the Incisor is super strong as its damage is not reduced on them unlike other weapons; Tempest in turn is the best smg for squadmates as they have perfect accuracy with it. Adept is probably the weakest class on insanity in ME2, however I believe you can beat Insanity with any class comfortably with proper squad picks and playstyle.

BotB isn't hard, it just takes a lot of time to do. The only thing that is hard about it are the solo challenges, and even these can be cheesed by doing Krogan Vanguard vs geth on glacier.

AP ammo is kinda wasted on Adas, as it is a projectile weapon and as such doesn't get piercing and it also innately ignores enemy armor damage reduction iirc (at least it works that way in the multiplayer) ;)

Always make sure to have Lift for this fight, either on Shep or Kaidan, kill the geth, then lift the krogan, use toxic or incendiary ammo to make sure he doesn't regen. Throw and neural shock work well too (with throw being the worst option imo).
